Who watches the watchmen?

i hate the love scenes and the xtreme violence and gore that are not necessary. i also dont understandd why dr. manhattan needs to show his 'thing' all the freakin time. but, the fight sequences are fantastic. i also love the overall message of the movie. my favorite character is rorschach. even if he's the one being chased as a criminal and being said to have a mental disorder, he's the only one that has good enough morals and great sense. i just like it.

Am I the only person on the planet who thinks this is one f the best movies ever made? Now, I admit, I am a fan of comic superheroes. I also admit I have yet to read the graphic novel so this was my first exposure to the story. I'm also an avid movie fan and to me this movie just has it all. I love the structure, the character development, the incrdible interweaving of the plots, the poilitical conjecture and hypothesis, the symbolism, the general social commentary and the twist on superhero culture, taking what Miller was starting to do in the comic world and driving it to the next level with imagination and creativity unmatched in anything else I have seen. I saw another discussion compare it unfavourably to the X-Men - I love Marvel comics including the X-Men but anybody who even puts this movie/story on the same level is....well, missing something in life.
