Is writing notes in the class necessary???????

Is it compulsary for all the students to write the class notes?I have faced this so many times that students are forced to do so.If anyone is clear with the concept then i think he/she doesn't need to write it in the class.particularly i don't ever write the notes in the class...so whats your opinion?

Hello!
IT's a good habit to take notes in classes. That's a good way to boost one's memory on the newly acquired knowledge! And keeping taking notes can effectively fix your attention to what the teacher's saying! Then you won't be distracted during the classes!

Dear friend, i think it depends on the quality of the teacher as well as his/her content.I m a b.tech final yr student and let me tell u how boring the teachers and the lectures are there.they simply come with a notebook and dictate it in the class and compel us to write it down.so tell me what should i do in this condition.

As for me, I take down notes during the class. There are certain important things that I may not remember so I write them down for reference. But if your asking about copying everything, I do not do that. I also think that it is up to the student whether he or she would take down notes or not. I mean, the teacher does not have the right to enforce that you should copy or take it down. Besides, it is up to you if you will fail or pass right?

let me tell u wat happened with me once in d class.once a temporary faculty asked me to write d notes in her class but i didn't.she again came to me and asked me to do so this time she asked me if i wanted to sit in her class i had to write but again i replied"sorry mam i never write in d class and now also sorry i can't write".u no wat she replied?she just threw me out of her class for one week.i simply went out..
so tell me was it righht or wrong????

write notes in class is not necessary..i do not have this habit too,in my opinion,if you real want to study hard,you will learn it from lots of books yourself..then you can know that more clearly!!but we can not say that somebody who writes note is wasting time..the one will learn from it also..write note or not is due to your habit!this is what i think!

yes my dear friend,thats true in my opinion .noone should be forced to do so. it should be upto the student whether to write or not to write it in the class.
