Plagiarism Update

March 30, 2009 7:40am CST
Yesterday, I posted this discussion: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1960046.aspx It was about a site plagiarising an AC article. Well, great news: I had a reply from the site's owner today (as listed on the post yesterday) and he's killed the page. It's a free blogging site, so he can't do much more. I'm pretty impressed that he took it seriously and acted so quickly. Top marks to him!

I frequently visit http://www.copyscape.com to check for plagiarism. This site is actually one the best tools a writer can have. Put the URL of your original work in there and it will tell you if anyone's copied it anywhere in the world.

haha, Spike the Great Detective, thanks for all your effort to protect those babies. It seems that everyone is plagiarising AC articles, hope AC can install better online security systems to protect the articles. Good work, please continue the good work, dear Spike the Great Detective. Sherlock Holmes passed away long time ago, so we got to rely on you.

That is one thing that they definitely don't tolerate at AC. I had one article lifted from there and within 72 hours the matter was resolved. They are very hands-on with stolen information and you better believe that they mean it when they say if you post plagiarized material you will be banned for life.

Awesome. I hate to see someone else try to make money off of something that I spent time on and am making very little money off of! It's so easy to produce content and so easy to get caught stealing it from others that it hardly ever seems like it could be worth your time.

Wow, I cant believe the nerve of some people. I am very glad to hear that he took the page down. That is what that person deserves! People should not take credit for work that they didnt do. It always makes me mad to see things like this because I have several articles online. I would be really upset if someone stole my writing.
