Biggest tax on tobacco ever..fair or no?

Absolutely fair.

HECK NO it isnt fair they just put tax on them a couple of years ago and they went sky high here I think $42 a carton of what I used to smoke. And when I started they were only 25 cents a pack! Now I have gone to another brand put out by Native Americans way chaeper. They are talking ere to put more tax on Cigs and Li**or calling it a sin tax grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And they had just raised taxes on them 2 years ago. DOnt know why they want to keep I will say punish the people that smpke and drink . NOT fair at all!

"Sin" taxes have their own sets of problems. You tax something that isn't a necessity and if it gets too expensive, then people quit or cut back. Suddenly your tax revenue drys up... all you can hope is that people will be healthier because they aren't doing that bad habit any more....

I think is only fair. Smoking is a bad habit that only causes more expenses and harm people who does not smoke, like health related issues. If they have money to burn for sure they will have no problem paying more taxes.
