There is always a debate going on about should our oldies shown a door to make place for the young talent. Yes Gambhir did well and am taking nothing away from his performance.. but for me the real hero for this test was Dravid, who fought in the first innings as well as helped India saving the day by playing almost half of the overs bowled on the fourth day (206 balls). Lakshman and Sachin too played there part well in making sure India defend this one safely, while our young guns specially Youvraj crumbled under the pressure. So now there should be a full stop to all that discussion about there retirement.

"The class is permanent , form temporary" is an old saying. You cant replace these three guys in the near future with such trememdous skills.Eventhough you can play One day Internatinal or a T20 game without skill , Test requires a superior skill.Thats why its called a TEST mathch , to TEST your skills.

is my friend if you look closely we will find that actually the old players made it look easy for the team to go for a draw and a lot of the credit goes to the main two players that there is dravid and laxman. They played well on both occasions and on both innings and the the reason why India went to opposition from where the were able to draw the match. In the first innings these two players played really well to buying time and play out as much as possible. Apart from these two there was hardly any contribution, not even from the little master. And in the next innings against the wall stood to the occasion. Although it is unfortunate that he got out to a decision which was wrong. Otherwise he could have easily scored a century by the looks of the way he was playing. So I guess still be heavily rely on these players when it comes to the longer version of the game. It is the 2020 and the one-day format in which the new team has done well but when it comes to the real cricket award one-day specialists are not performing up to the level. Specially yuvraj who looked short of confidence and a real shaky player.

It is true. I absolutely agree with you. It is the seniors who have saved India's pride by playing so beautifully and avoiding the inevitable defeat.Hats off to them

One should always give respect to seniors and learn some tricks from them. Dravid and Sachin were harassed more my public and media not the selectors. Public is scrutinizing Dravid and Sachin performance after India won the T20 World Cup and India exit in the first round of the World Cup 2007 in West Indies. We all should leave Sachin and Dravid instead of scanning their performance. Media wants some masala and people fall pray to media's hype and gossips. In my view India team should have both the mixture of seniors and youth. The present team need Rohit Sharma more than Yuvaraj Singh. Youvaraj is good ODI player and Rohit is good test player. Rohit should play in tests instead of ODI's and T20 cricket.
