How often do you call your friends?

Since I'm married with children I don't call my friends as often as I'd like to. When I finally have the time to call a friend then it seems the kids want to act up. Why is that? Anyway, I probably call my friends once every other week. How often do you call your friends?

I actually miss my friends so much eversince I moved abroad. It's kinda expensive to make a long distance call, but I still try to keep in touch with them over the phone at least 2 or 3 times a month. But thanks to technology, internet really made me closer to my friends. We usually go online and chat with each other. And now that free calling is part of any messenger thing, it's even easier to reach them. But still, I still would like to see them again in person. No amount of virtual technology could replace a good conversation with a friend over a cup of coffee. =)

Amen to that! I know exactly how you feel. Since I don't go out...at all...I find that the internet is the next best thing. However, the same old same old can get really...old. The times I have my friend over for the once a month dinners is something we (my four children and I) look forward to because it's a chance to interract. There's nothing like looking into his face and watching his expressions as he talks or laughs. Just to hear his voice AND watch him is priceless. Too bad he's got to live so far away but it could be worse. *Pleiades

I am so guilty of that myself. Since I'm a single mother with four children, finding a quiet time to call my friends is nill. Luckily, the one and only friend I ever bother calling these days is so understanding as he loves children and has some himself. But, to make up for the loud noises and interruptions during our phone calls, I more than make it up to him by having him over once a month for dinner. Too bad he's got to drive an hour and a half just to get it. *lol* Anywho, I try calling him about once or twice a month...but I much rather prefer emails or something of that device...then there's no interruptions and it's on my time. *Pleiades

I rarely call my friends. I prefer face to face interactions so I just don't call people. When I'm on the phone I find it way too easy to get distracted by things that are going on in front of my face and it's insulting to stay on the phone with someone if you can't focus on what they are trying to tell you.

I laways said my kids had "phone radar" ! Just when I would get on the phone they would be at their worst! Anymore it seems hard to find enough time to call. And the internet makes it easy to be lazy too! LOL We just leave each other messages throughout the day and call seldom anymore.

I think my kids have that same radar.

I'm also busy - so I usually try to call my friends once a week, or perhaps even less, if I have a busy schedule with school & work that week. *sigh*.

Do your friends mind?

I am not a phone person, so I do email everyone almost everyday. It just seems very easy to sit down and write what ever comes to mind. This way I am able to give 100% attention to who I want to speak with. I do it mostly at night when the kids are sleeping or through out the day when I get a break. On Birthdays is one day I do make it a habit to make that phone call.

It's funny. I was always a phone person when I was single and younger. Being married with children, I'm not into the whole phone thing.

That is how I lose most of my friends. I move and then I stop talking to them all the time, then I rarely talk to them, and rarely turns into never. I only have one person that I would actually call a friend right now that I am not related to. I talk to her almost every day on the phone, in person, or on messenger.
