Hi,
Is it possible for your neighbors to tap into your Internet connection if its password protected? You should set up a secure Internet connection to prevent that from happening. Strangers can steal your private information or use your internet connection to do bad things while putting you into account.

If your using a router, you can set it up to only allow particular computers to connect to the internet. In my case, I once just left it so that others could easily connet with it but, I didn't really spread the word that our place is now a wi-fi spot. Then, logging into my router one time, I saw another computer with a different IP address connected. I could even see the sites that this computer have went to.
Thinking that we are the only ones paying the bills and them getting it for free, I only allowed our computer's IP addresses to be recognized and no one else's.

The speed wasn't actually slow but, when I logged into our router, I can check the connected devices and I saw a computer name that simply wasn't from any of the computers that we had at home so that's how I figured out that someone else was taking advantage of our connection. [b](_

Better is , you can approach your internet service provider ask them monitor the usage of the internet in your connection, when you are not using it. If they find any usage, then you can come to a conclusion.Otherwise, you download Norton 360, antivirus software and install it in your system. In this software, one option is there to monitor the computers connected to your own network and you can see if any other computer is connected. Here you can see only the physical address of the computer connected in your network and we can not monitor their activities, even if they are connected. But you are having the option of allowing/denying other computers to get connected. Aslo some other networking software are available for this and you can try with them also.

Ok. Try with Norton 360 and not with Norton anti virus, though both are the software of symantec, they are different. If they have same software or some other software to monitor the network, your computer will also be identified by them but as the connection is yours(If), you need not bother about that. But it seems that you you are having some other problem
