Have you ever felt inadequate?

Have you ever had that feeling where you think you're not really "someone" important? Have you felt that somehow all your efforts have always been fruitless? What do you do to combat those feelings of self-defeat? I have felt so inadequate all my life, it's not even funny. Sometimes, I think it's because I've chosen a college degree which I never really liked in the first place. Now I'm having regrets.
How about you? Have you ever felt inadequate?

Hi inky! I hope that you won't continue to feel like this
for your whole life because you are way too intelligent and
way too young to feel this way about your life and to continue
this feeling! I can tell you it is not a good way to feel
and to keep feeling because it will lead you to feeling angry
and unhappy and could end up ruining your life! So please
listen to me because I have already ruined my life and I want
to help you to not do the same! Never let anyone make you feel
like you are less than you are! You are smart and you can
do whatever you set your mind to do! Always remember that!

Sometimes, that's just what I need. Some sense of validation... I do feel that I'm smart and strong enough to tackle any obstacles to ever come my way. It's just that I'm my own worst enemy.

I feel like I'm not good enough quite often. Sometimes I feel like I put a lot of effort into what I do, but no matter how much effort I put into what I do, someone else that does half the work or puts in less time, is always praised more for doing less. It bugs me to see mediocre people reaping great benefits when people that work hard are passed over. I feel like I try to do things and to do well but it's never good enough.

Yes, I hate mediocrity too, especially in that context. When I see these people get rewarded, I tend to ask myself if I'm doing anything wrong.
Sometimes I just try too hard.
