Can you be a forgiving friend?

State a situation wherein a friend of yours did something wrong and unforgiving but you still managed to talk things over and give friendship another chance. What do you think are the things that a friend can do and will eventually end your friendship?

I don't know if this will count, but I had a major misunderstanding with two of my friends when I first went back home from abroad. They questioned my decision to be back and I actually had a confrontration with one of them (it was the first time we had that). But before I left again, I had the longest phone conversation again with the other one, we both explained our side. And although we still have totally different points of view regarding the situation, we ended up respecting each other more. I have no idea what's gonna cause my friendship with them to end, but all I know is that I don't want to think about that, if that's that gonna happen then let it be. Right now, I'm just thankful I still have them and I'm still keeping in touch with them, and mylot is becoming one of our ways to give a different twist to our conversations. :p Thanks Pamee! Welcome to mylot! Happy mylotting! =)

Well i had a friend who right before she got engaged asked me if she were to get engaged, would i be in her wedding. Of course i said yes. Now mind you me & this girl have been friends since the 6th grade & we are not 25. We were 24 when she got married. Anyways, like the next month she got engaged & she called me balling cause she was so excited. Well she ended up never asking me to be in her wedding. I was so hurt. I mean this girl was one of my very best friends. She in place, asked her friend from college. They werent even friends anywhere near as long as me & her. I pushed it all behind & went to her wedding anyway & let it go. Some people would not be so nice. Actually i have many friends who told me they wouldnt have went to the wedding at all. There is only so far people can push you, but i am a forgiving person so i forgave.

You know we never really talked about it. But she was awkward around me at the wedding. Like she knew it wasnt cool of her. It's sad cause we are definatly not as close now.

Whew! Well that's something huh! Did you guys talked after the wedding? Did she gave a valid explanation as to why she did not invited you to her wedding? How did you guys handle things afterwards? What's her reaction when she saw you on her wedding day?

I can forgive the person, but not the act maybe. Blame the sin not the sinner. When it comes to friends, it's really hard to lose one, especially when you learn how to live with each other. It may become a thorn/burden in your heart. There are many times when friends did me wrong. I forgave them, and moved on. Friendship is not something I want to lose, especially if it will hunt me forever.

Right, I like that. "Blame the sin not the sinner." Its really hard to lose someone you use to have. Hard to lose a friend that is. It will really hunt you but sometimes forgiving is easy, forgetting is the hardest. *sigh*
