we are pretty fortunate and get a fair amount of freebies offered to us from friends and family members. we have gotten a bread maker, a flat screen moniter, a fax machine, furniture and a bunch of clothes that way.
of course, not everything we get is to our liking, but we take them anyways because, we can always get rid of them later if we choose.
what about you? do you get stuff given to you? do you take everything?

My family and friends do a lot of swapping and handing down of items. We all understand the value of things we no longer need or use, and offer to others before getting rid of them. I get a lot of things for my son because he is the youngest in the family. I also have gotten appliances, clothes and furniture. I also give things I no longer need. I have given away a desk, love seat and air conditioner that I no longer used. Plus my friends and I swap books.

We used to get a lot of stuff given to us when we first set up home and sometimes even now we are offered stuff from the family.Clothes bags, shoes ect I think it is nice to get offered stuff we say no thank you or yes please depending on what it is then it gets offered on to someone else if we don't need it,great way of doing things especially in this day and age.love suzzyx.

My daughter and I were in a consignment shop recently and the store buys really decent, barely used clothing however the lady that was there had a few bags and they ended up not buying all of it so the lady offered the girl clothes to my daughter and she did take them. They all ended up to be really nice clothes. I take free things occasionally, depending on what it is and if we need it. Most of the time though we are the ones giving stuff away.

Well, for me, it feels great to get stuffs from relatives and friends because they are no more use to them. It is also impolite not to accept them.
Anyways, I take them, and overtime, if I find them of no use, I would also give them away or donate. It feels better to give than to receive. It will also lessen the junks in the house.
