Do you own a bird?

I remember a friend of mine whose grandparents owned a parrot. It was so funny to walk by it and the parrot would say all kinds of things to us. Sometimes it would curse which wasn't a good thing. My grandmother owned a canary at one time. It was a pretty yellow bird. It would sing just about the whole day. Have you ever owned a bird?

oh yea. she had a problem with it learning bad words for awhile. for some reason it was yelling "pig, pig, pig" at the local beat officer as he walked by.she still doesn't know who taught him that.

I think a parakeet would be nice.

I used to "board" a bird. It actually belonged to one of my brothers. It was a Cockatiel. Annoying little thing. It liked to try to get your attention all the time and if you ignored it then it would whistle at you to get your attention.

I love animals but cannot stand birds. I like them in the yard where they belong, but I only like to look at them outside...they gross me out in the house.

My grandmother has two cockatiels. I am a HUGE animal lover - but I hate those birds. I really wish she would give them away or something. They don't chirp or sing or talk (much)...no, they prefer to scream and squawk. Then my grandmother lets them out to fly around the house and they poop everywhere, which is so unsanitary. It is so gross. Then she gives them kisses and they try to bite her. "They're just trying to kiss me back!"...yeah, until you bleed. Jeez
