Does India has potential to host Olympics?

Recently after moving IPL season 2 from India,This doubt raised in my mind
Does India has potential to host Olympics?
I am curiously waiting for Common Wealth Games to be hosted in Delhi .Hope this will atlest give me a little bit confidence for a positive answer.

Every country got potential in hosting olympics. But it would be better if the country that will host the olympics is a bery stable country that has got a low poverty rate etc. DOn't get me wrong, India is fast developing and it may soon host the olympics but in 2012? I don't think they should do it. I mean hosting olympics means $pending billion$ of dollar$! But I bet around 2020+ India's got a big potential.

Why not? India is a great country. India has splendid culture. And it has many attractive things such as music, food etc. I have no more deep impressions for the Indian athletes. I think it will be a good chance if India holds the Olympics. I am sure it will improve Indian sports. And in my impression, it seems that India has never held the Olympics yet. I think it's fine for India to hold it. Developing countries also have the rights to hold the Olympics.
