products have tripled in costs, and the store's cannot sell it and cannot sell enough to keep their doors open, more stores close, more unemployed? Just another thing to kick back on the economy. This is also a domino, will affect the entire tabacoo industry. The growers, the cigarette companies, stores, online stores ect...looks like more lay offs, and more buisness's to have to close. How was this a wise move at this time?2 responses

hi eafore...i hear you. my mom's favorite chocolates Russell Stover's went up almost $4.oo overnight. and a canned soup i like to buy jumped up 25 cents suddenly. i liked the soup as an inexpensive and good meal. course my vice pop keeps going up. it's like prices in the grocery store have a meter running on them anymore. the good news is i still am buying my vices. (pop, chocolate, etc) hehe. a girl's gotta live.

We will have our little pleasures and I agree, you have to have a few of your most favorite things. Now , they need to leave the chocolate and coffee alone..... but I know they wont....they will hit the things that we love trying to aqueeze more money out of us....@greenglitterturtle (2750)

yes
i heard in the news that they were considering a special tax for chocolate alone. they are low. that is so wrong. i've said before that chocolate is the poor mans prozac. do they want more irate people going bizerk and making life more dangerous? they should be helping the general public. not punish them for all the bad decisions that some people make.

You should have seen the look on the store owner's face. He just kept saying it is too high, it is too high.....It will affect many stores and and another chunk of the economy. How will they collect tax's if noone is buying...or so few in comparisom to what it was....they cut off thier hands to spite their faces.
