Do you rate lotters?I try to rate almost every time.I never rate negative, except from one time where a guy was really rude and ironic, because had a different opinion.I don't wait to have all of us the same opinions, same interests. We are too many!I accept the different, but no need to be ironic.

Yeah, i always rate the one who responses my discussions. Its my simple way of thanking them for the effort of responding and sharing thier opinios and knowledge regarding the topics and issue. I never tried rating any discussion i answered because i dont know how. And i also dont rate negatively. I rather ignore rude people. Its thier opinion anyway. We cant do anything about it.

I always take time to Rate any discussion I read here even if I am not posting back to it. I also make sure I rate every person who posts back to one of my discussions as well. Most of the time I find myself rating positive but from time to time I have had to Rate negatively and such just due to a post or a discussion I felt is against the TOS as well.

I always rate even if I am only reading a discussion and the responses and comments and not responding myself.
I usually rate positive but I have also rated negative too. I find it very contradictory to report a user for plagiarising and then give a positive
In the FAQs:
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx
there is a very explicative part explaining how the rating system should be used and it also states:
'What if I disagree with someone? Should I give that post a negative rating?
Absolutely not! In fact, if you disagree with a post, but still feel it positively contributes to the discussion, you should rate it positively. Rating quality content negatively will hurt your ratings overall. Remember differing opinions and viewpoints tend to make for the most interesting discussions.'
If more users were aware of that then it might be used more efficiently.

Whenever I start a discussion, I rate all of the responses. Occasionally if I read a discussion that I find to be very new or different or unique, I'll rate it. And if I ever read a response to someone else's discussion that I find particularly insightful, then I'll rate that. But mostly I just rate responses to discussions I start. Luckily I've never had to give a negative rating! I don't always agree with the perspectives and opinions of the responses I get, but I still rate them positively because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And no one has ever gotten rude or nasty with me because I feel differently.

I rate most of them as positive.. but from last 2-3 days getting lot of negative rankings due to some arguable discussions under a particular interest. Ratings have gone down from above 80 to 68 in very little time and are expected to go down further..lol. ya i agree we all have different opinions, really there's no need to be ironic. happy myl
