Do you drink from the can or do you always pour it in a glass?
Do you wash the can first?
Think about all the things..
Rats, mice, insects, snakes, etc
that might be in a warehouse..
or trucks before that can arrives
to your refridge....yuck
Do you clean your can?
I don't drink out of cans..I do't but drinks in cans..don't like that tinny taste.

Never thought of that. I do clean the top of my can before I drink from it. Most of the time though I put the soda in a glass.

I did until people that I worked with were talking about things like that. I had never thought of about it before.I don't drink soft drinks very often. I like my coffee and lemond aid.

No way... I will never drink from a can or bottle that I know has been stored for some time. I don't know how the kids can do it, to be honest. I always ask for a glass with my bottled drinks. I know the bottles and cans have been wiped over, but no way are they sterilised, so that's a no-no for me, my friend.
Brightest Blessings.

I sometimes drink from soda cans unconsciously. But I make it a point to wash the cans before I put it in my mouth. It might contain rat feces or urine and stuff.

Thanks for posting this, you know sometimes when I am buying a coke in can I forgot to clean on the outer surface but I am aware about rat urine may be present on it. Thanks and I will remind my friends also. My professor also adviced us to do not drink directly on the can itself or do not patrionize canned foods because sometimes you forgot things you must do to avoid bad things.

I read about this danger some time ago, in particular with reference to canned drinks because of rats, mice and other insects running around in the warehouse. I usually don't buy canned drinks, but if I do, I'll usually wash the top before opening the can. Although these dangers are real, nowadays though the cartons of canned drinks are usually sealed in a box or if they are not in a box, the carton of canned drinks are usually shrink wrapped with some kind of plastic material for delivery to the retailers. I think they are usually not stored and transported in loose cans to the supermarkets and retail shops.

Hi raydene! Yikes! It is so gross when you think about it. Fortunately, I really don't like drinking from the can. I always pour it in a glass or if ever I am on the road, I usually have a straw with me so I can use it to sip from the can. However, I would rather wait to have a glass before I would really open the can.
Take care and God Bless!

i don't mind drinking out of cans. of course i have to clean them first by washing them with running water or just wipe it clean from dirt with some damp clothes. but i have not thought if that will be enough to be sure it is already clean. i just assume it is already clean and that the company who sell them has not dumped them in some dirty places or those stores who get them to sell them do have a good place to hide those soda or juice cans. i think they are inside those boxes and they just get to open them when they are ready to put them in stands or in the fridge.

I don't like to drink from cans, but if I do I clean the can first. If you think about it you don't really want to know what crawls around or into all our food stuffs.

It depends sometimes whether or not I drink from the can. I have heard of these things before. The fact that during the travel or in a warehouse where these cans are stored or just sitting there awaiting to be trucked out there is a chance that these "creatures" can be scampering around.
You never know what goes on with these products before they hit the store or your kitchen table. There have been times in my past where I do rinse off those lids. I sometimes even rinse off the lids of cans like spaghetti and the like before feeding it to my child.
This posting is a good heads up to people that drink from cans everywhere. I am not sure that you can necessarily get rid of all of the bacteria but at least rinsing them off could help a little.
By the way, I do know what you mean about that tinny taste.

Hi, raydene! Yes, I heard about this. This is sick when you really think about it.
When I get my can out of the soda case, I will rinse the top part off with hot water, this is something that I have gotten used to doing lately. I know that the case is usually closed up and sealed, until I open it. There is no telling where the cans were at before I got them. I know that I will be very careful from now on. I don't want to get infected over any cans.
