How long have you lived in your current house?

I know in this time of economical turmoil, there are some people who have had to move because they've lost their homes or had to move because they needed a cheaper home. We moved into our home October of '07. I'm glad that we were able to get it when we did. I don't know if we could have afford our apartment if we're still there.

I am staying in my house from my born and this financial crisis has no role in our life because this is our own home we do not have any loans from any bank or any other debts from any financial services so we do not affect, so still we are at our own home

At least you have that. You don't have to worry about losing your home one bit.

We bought this house and the one next door five years ago before prices in this part of Florida went through the roof. It's two properties as far as taxes go but deeded as one so we have a traditional 30 year mortgage at a low interest rate and we don't have to worry about the mortgage going up. Home values in our area have fallen but we don't plan to sell anytime soon so that's not a problem for us. My best friend's daughter rents an apartment in Maryland and her rent has gone through the roof...so much so that she may be forced to move back home at 31 years of age.

You know, having the two houses could be an ideal situation. There could be an opportunity of renting out the second house. It could be a form of extra income, or something. I wouldn't mind that thought if I had the opportunity.

We have lived in out fixer upper for almost 14 years. Yes it is still being worked on room from room. WE had to replace everything except the Beams inside the walls! Anyways we do have a mortgage but it is thru our credit union and very reasonable. Even if my husband got laid off we would be able to make the payments to insure a roof over our heads and our 3 kids still at home.

I've actually lived in my house where i live now all my life, when my mum was pregnant with me they moved to the house where i am now and i was born. I find it pretty alright where i live, not the best of places like abroad and things but its alright :)

I only remember living in the house I am living in at the moment as i've been living here practically all my life. I moved to this house, however, when I was 3 months old as I was the 5th child therefore my parents needed more space aha :P

I have lived in my current house for almost four years. Before that I owned my cottage for fourteen years and sometimes I let it out so I could go off traveling. My current home is modern and my cottage was old. My house overlooks fields at the back and it is in a very quiet locality. It is now a bit too small for me and my family. Also my toddler son is disabled and therefore in the future I will need to move to a bungalow. I feel sorry for people that have lost their home due to the economic problems my home country is experiencing right now. I know I am lucky that I own my home and at the moment don't have a mortgage. If I buy a bungalow I will need to get a mortgage though.

I have lived in my current home almost 13 years. Both my daughters are old enough to move out on their own though with the current economic situation as it is, it is better for them to live with me. Though it would help me out if they had jobs. One has a year and half daughter and the other one has one due in June. So hopefully they get jobs soon to help ease the burden of it all on me, and maybe I could actually afford to do the repairs to the home that I desperately need to have done.

i have been in my home since i was a kid. and i am adult now. and so i have lived here so many years now. many times i had wished that i had relocated somewhere . a better place where there is more peace and quite and where it is more happy with beautiful environment and scenery. but that dream didn't came true yet. but i still hope that it will happen soon . sometimes i envy those people who are able to moved alot bescause they have the money to go to other better place and not because they have to leave their place cause they don't have the money to pay or have to sell the house cause they don't have any more money.

We are currently in an apartment. We have been here for 2 years together and my husband has been here for almost 5 years. We looked into houses and buying one a few months ago but decided we would wait a little while longer. There are tons out there at fairly good prices though!!

We have had our house since June of last year and I am very fortunate for this with everything happening. It is nice for our starter home. It is roomy and great for our family that I and my husband are still builing. We are happy we chose to buy instead of rent. It gives us more leway with our home. We can add to it and we don't have to worry about our animals. We are very happy with our home.

there is a lot of difference between house and home.House is just made of bricks and steel .but a home is made of bonds and relation. So don't worry about house and worry about home even in the mid of economical turmoil.

Well believe it or not but I have lived in this house since 2004-2005 is when I moved in. And well we have been living here for 5 years in london. It's very quite and the house is not small, it's quite big and alot of space in each room.

We have lived on our current house since 1987, but within a few weeks we will be moving out into a new house. It is going to be strange for a while because our new house is in a very quiet suburban area and we currently live in the city.. - Derek

I am living in an apartment. My husband and I moved here almost seven years ago. Both my husband and myself are currently unemployed, and the rent for this apartment is more than two weeks of my unemployment benefits. It is really a struggle trying to pay $975.00 a month for rent. I live in a state with one of the highest property taxes, and people are losing their homes left to right.

I am currently living with my parents. Which we have lived here for 10 years. So we haven't been affected. I think its because we live like in the country in the woods. Its not as bad as it sounds.

I haven't experience your story but I will not let that happen. Our home has been ours even before I was concieved by my mother. My father save money to buy our home thru his never ending effort and energy. It might not the perfect home as my mother always complain but it is perfect for me for it is the foundation of our family and how I learned to be a person as I am today. Hope you find yours.

We've spent more than 20 years on our house, built an ample of ambitions. Having good and bad memories of yesterdays. I treasure every single moment we have shared with the whole family. Still love to raise my whole family too...

Yes it is a bad economic situation. My case is worse than anyone else. A year back I shiftet to a new, bigger, and expensive rental house. The next month after I shifted the economy started collapsing. I my job was also affected. So I am in really bad situation.
