I finally heard something last night on Fox News that made sense. They were saying someone is wanting to get a bill passed that would regulate campaign contributions. They want the politicians to use tax dollars to run for office and each one would be limited to a certain amount. I know that doesn’t sound right the first time you hear it but when you think about it is starts to make sense.
One of our big problems with elections is the fact that a lot of big money people donate to candidates they want to see in office. They make deals so they will be favored by the candidates when they get in office. This plan would eliminate that and take the running of this country out of the hands of the rich. We need the running of the government back in the hands of the voters where our founding fathers put it. The politicians would have no choice but start trying to impress the voters.

I think he amount spent on campaigning should be limited and the same amount be distributed to each candidate for a specific office. If it hadn't been for overspend on his campaign plus the illegal votes recorded from ACORN I doubt very much if Obama would have been in Buckingham Palace yesterday.

It definitely does sound better than the current system. Just look at what Obama did. But they'll just keep the you can take tax dollars and be limited or choose to run completely on donations. I wonder how many people ended up double donating or more to the Obama campaign. The way the collected the funds it was easy to do that. Did anybody ever go through and figure that part out? Probably not.
I really wish they would fix it and give each candidate a monetary restriction at the very least. Spending $2 Billion on a campaign is simply too much IMO.
