Mylot is getting dumb

I was on a roll here for months and took a month off and went back on with my roll and was so hip-hurrah with everyone else around me...that was new at least. I know people here all do not think mylot is gods gift to man but your still here and something is working but HOW DO YOU DO IT. Im not a good small talker--dont even do it in real life, I usually come here trying to get opinions and answers to my questions but anything in between such as 'which is brighter' or 'why do people do this' I just get exhausted with!! Who knows why people do what they do. I feel like I could be reading a paper or curling up to a nice book BUUUT--mylot pays. How do I keep occupied. I would be happy with just $30 a month. I have traffic tickets to pay--again. (Maintaince of Lamps & parking meters)

The site seems to be going through a period of obsessive inanity at the moment, it's nearly driving me insane. Fortunately, I am no longer trying to spend 5 hours a day to get my $20 a month, that was mind-destroying. I find I can enjoy it much better as a social network which pays a bit of money every couple of months, and on any given day, if the content is demoralisingly stupid, I go off and do other things to avoid boredom. Panda Spanking is fun, if you haven't already come across it here. And sometimes Thinker can contain some genuinely meaningful discussions. And yes, stalking my friends' list is always a good way of finding useful discussions, since my list tends to contain lots of like-thinking people, most of them pretty fart smellas. Lash

Yes I noticed that the quality of topics declined over Christmas and the New Year and I lost interest for a while. I certainly got tired of answering meaningless threads just to make money. I agree that it is much more fun seeing it as a social network that pays rather than trying to make a lot of money on it. Trying too hard to make money can spoil the site. Stalking friends is a good way to find interesting topics.

Yea, ill have to do it that way. I knew from the beginning mylot was not made to make you rich and Im not upset about it, I just thought it would be a good way to pay my tickets without it coming out of my own pocket is all. I still think mylot is a better networking site than myspace, you dont get all that unwanted attention either.

Well, bayernfan obviously covered every point in this post of his and who wouldn't agree to just enjoying it here as much as one can? At first, I was really interested in earning here. I would even think of discussions wherein one can simply answer a yes or a no, let them elaborate their answers and so on but, I eventually realized that its much easier to earn without being concerned about how much am I doing. As already mentioned, unless you build your status on earning online, being a typical online earner isn't really that lucrative. Spending much time is essential if we want to really earn more than the minimum. Then again, we can also join other sites that would get us to earn more but, having too many would divide our focus and later on find out that we're just making meager cents out of every site that we have joined. Getting dumb... I can't deny seeing such posts with contents that are not thought provoking but, we also can't deny that there are others who also participate in them and even gain more activity than those that would engage one's thought. I guess the population of members that are into that kind of thinking are scattered as more members don't really concern themselves to things that are complicated. We do go online to relieve ourselves from the complications of our realities.. well, most of us anyway.

Here in this site? When readily viewable discussions seems not to catch my interest, I try to type words and search for them here in this site which might grant me results of discussions that would regain my mood to be active again. Some cases, even if I do search, nothing new is present so I woudl resort to what my friends have started.. Of course, that too doesn't work all the time so when that's the case, I simply do something else to pass the time like read a book or chat with friends in case they are online. There are really times when the activity here in this site seems to be slow as in not much members are starting discussions that interest us. Probably because those that do start interesting ones are not yet online. Sometimes, when I get interested in a particular discussion, I go to that person's profile and see the other discussion that he or she has started. Somtimes I get to see more interesting discussions and get to add them among my interest. Of course, when we are bored, we are simply bored. (^_^")

Yeah, maybe you could find new interesting discussions from your friends by viewing all their posts that you can. You could also activate the notification feature in your friends list just to be sure you get updates from them about discussions that they have made. Hmmm, you can't find certain discussions that go along with those 'tags' you mentioned? I guess you could start a discussion wherein those tags are applicable.. however, whenever I start a discussion, I would always think of what particular time should I post the discussion so that a lot of members would get to read and hopefully participate (^_^")

Well, for me I think we all go in spurts with this site. I was not as active in here last month myself so I just barely missed reaching payout. But I have never had a problem with this site, and the days I find nothing worth posting back too, or do not feel like it, I do not come here. As for keeping occupied what I sometimes will do is go thru and respond back personally to one of my Friends discussions or find an interest I am interested in, etc. and then go from there. I like to break up the monotiny this way so sometimes I end up finding some Great discussions I would have missed otherwise as well.

It takes a lot of time to earn that much here and I got sick of trying so I took the last 2 months off to have a break. Now I have come back for a bit of fun and not focusing quite so much on the money angle. I find if you spend a lot of time trying to earn then you get frustrated but if you focus on discussions that interest you then you have a lot of fun and earn in the process. There are also these new tasks to play with. They can boost your earnings.

I think that myLot is mostly what you make of it. Sure there are a lot of repeat discussions and less interesting topics that are started. That's true of any board though. The pay on myLot is not that great. If you want to earn thirty dollars every month, then prepare to work hard and devote much time to creating discussions and responding to posts. If you spend hours at a time on myLot, then you are likely to become bored some of the time. There isn't enough new, quality content being created here on a minute by minute basis. The membership is only 166,548, not all of it active, and certainly all are not active at once. You will find an easier time earning money if you get a regular, offline job. Online work isn't easy. Especially if you do not want to work for peanuts. Most online work pays poorly. Those that are more successful and who can earn a living online, must create their own content, work extremely hard, build a solid reputation and suffer in the beginning while returns are paltry. If you are here on myLot solely to earn money and you don't enjoy the relationships with other members or the conversations, then chances are that you won't want to continue participating for long. There is no formula for earning lots of money on myLot. Build your reputation by posting and adding quality comments and advice on the boards. Make lots of friends and nurture those relationships so that others willing track your discussions and participate. Write meaningful and lengthy responses. Follow up when others respond to your comments or questions. Add pictures to your discussions or at the top of the boards when you can. Complete tasks when they are offered and available. Create a blog and attach it to myLot. Build up your profile to offer information that others will value. Encourage offline friends to join and participate so that you can earn cash for referrals. There isn't anything extraordinary that you need to do, but you will have to work hard. There is no such thing as something for nothing.

I am generally not a person who gets bored often. I am usually very busy and I tend to do multiple things at once. When I choose to visit myLot, I am usually doing other things online at the same time. In between other tasks or while waiting to be contacted by others, I like to look around on myLot and engage in discussions. If I am not interested in the topics that other members have started, I create my own. Sometimes I post pictures, manage my profile or add new interests. Reading responses in the politics board is never boring and I often get a kick out of poorly worded questions or spelling mistakes. They give me an opportunity to leave humorous responses. The first thing I do to avoid getting disenfranchised with myLot is to not spend too much time here and to participate when I am interested and when I feel like it. I earn a little bit of extra cash for doing something that I would otherwise do elsewhere without compensation. I spend my time here while I am partaking in other online activities, so I can flip back and forth and eliminate downtime. I don't waste time on discussions where everyone is leaving one sentence answers. I avoid topics such as "what is your favorite color?" and I read the lengthy responses, even if I don't intend to respond, because those are usually the most interesting posts and they provide real insight that allows you to get to know the member's here. There are too many things to mention and I don't have the time to post them all. Add as many of your true interests in your profile as you can and change boards when there isn't anything of interest in the topics that you frequent most. Talk about subjects that you are knowledgeable about and that you like discussing. People who get bored are usually boring themselves.

exactly there, mylot is what its members to do it. so if its members would just to earn fast and easy, they'll rather put simple and pointless questions and posts to earn buxx. but since we have administrators here, and if they really read stuff here, they would give you less for that, right? so what do you need to do? search for better topics? that's just it..

Money shouldn't be the main motivator for this site. bayernfan made some wonderful points. I don't often get bored here.I hope you can make the most of your time here, or are able to find a sie to meet your needs. Good luck

If you are on myLot just for the money and you don't fit the frame of what is being done then maybe there is something out there that would fit your purposes better. We are all different. If you don't like to talk a lot I can see why this place would drive you right up the wall. Maybe there would be something else that would pay the traffic tickets that you could do that would really spark your inner soul.

I'm not sure you got the point precisely: it's not that she doesn't like to talk, but that she doesn't deal well with SMALL talk (and she is not alone in this, many of those on my friends' list, and myself, feel the same way). Lash

I just like forum based sites in general as I love taking an interest into different topics, discussions and what not. Yeah, it can be boring at some times, hence why I move onto different sites.
