can two persons who have totally different characteristics be together?

Okay, most happy relationships consists of two persons with similar personality, religion, and hobbies. Because they can share most of their daily lives element together. In addition, they have common topics.
What if two persons with totally opposite of everything, I meant different likes and dislikes, such as the music they listen have total different taste; and movies, food, etc...... Can they be happily together?

I think if two people have different interests and stuff that gives them something to teach each other. The man I am seeing has different tastes in music that I do, but I would be willing to go to concerts for the bands he likes and vise versa. I like baseball he likes football but we would see/watch both sports to spend time together. The one thing that would be hard is different religions.

I can not tell if they are happy together or not but virtually there are many couples just like you described,one is talktive and one is tedious,they should get along well with each other I guess.because there are many such couples and they don't seem to be about to divorce in future
