Well, obviously if you spend more money than you make you will be in debt. I don't know if it's a sin as you say, but it isn't smart.
However, I think some people were living in relative luxury, then lost and job and might not have realized right away that they needed to stop living in luxury and that got them into debt. I have one friend who continued to live normally when she got a severance package. Now she lost her house because in 8 months she never found a job.

It's really the lifestyle that kills people's pockets. We always deny that we need to trim our lifestyle, instead we try to fit everything with our lifestyle and let it take over our world.
Soon, like that of your friend, we start losing the things we value and it's too late to realize that we should have done something about it when it was in the on-set still.

Yes luxury is temptation, it will create more debt. But you have to look at other things like household bills such as rent or house tax, gas, eletricity, phone bills, its never ending. People usually get credit cards or loans to payoff things, which will make them in more debt.

Oh for sure. I have seen many person in my life using luxury items in their life even if they can't afford it. This is just for show purpose. Now a days, people think that everything is available on loan so, why not trying everything and in end they find themselves under great debt!

Yeah, this is so true. When you go visit the mall or the appliance center, you could definitely buy stuff without spending for them on the spot. There are a lot of temptations there with matching 0% interests etc. only to find out in the end that you are over your neck with debts.
There should always be control.

I think what you said is only part of the problem! It is just to easy to get and use credit cards! No wonder some people get in debt! It just isn't buying luxury stuff! People use credit cards for groceries, gasoline, fast food, insurence and just about anything else you can buy with a credit card! People need to think before getting alot of credit cards and save up money before buying certain things they don't need right away! This is some of the problems for debt!

From the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic", yes it is Luxury. If you really don't need the things you are buying then it will just make your debt even bigger. This is hard to resists. We need consider first our priority, to where we are going to spent the money. Since you only borrowed the money, you need to spent it wisely. Wow! i should talk to myself. I am an impulsive buyer too and loves luxuries, in order to prevent from being a shopaholic I just bring enough money with no debit card at all.
