we all know that this is one of the dilemmas of females of newly break up couples. if a relationship does not work out should the woman return the man's gifts? i don't know the ethics on this and i'm interested.

I dont think I could return the gifts that my exboyfriend gave me. I would crumble if he gave me back the gifts. I mean he gave me the gifts out of his love for me, and while it would hurt to have the keepsakes around, but I wouldn't be able to part with them..the things I give back are things that are his like his cds his sweatshirt etc.

My personal opinion is that, it was given to the female as a gift, and usually, gifts aren't returned to the people that gave them to you. So I'd have to say no, a woman should not need to return the gifts to the man who gave them to her. Well, unless of course, she doesn't want it around as a reminder of him--though she could always sell it instead I suppose.

I don't believe anyone should ever return a gift. Sure it was a gift given when you were happy as a couple but still it remains a gift and gifts aren't something you give back
