Moochie think that it's his food which my 10 year old nephew is eating so he would bark and get ready for attack. He is becoming greedy! How do i stop him from believing that it's not his food?

Have you tried giving Moochie his own food at the same time? Or, one of those big rawhide bones? Give it to him only at your mealtime, then take it away at the end of the meal. Maybe if he doens't feel left out, his behavior would change. You can't blame Moochie too much. In the wild, the pups would eat last, and Moochie is just being true to his nature. We time Tukay's meals to ours, and it's helped a bit. We have a good 15 seconds to enjoy our meal while she's scoffing hers down. The she's right back to begging.

Rawhide bones? Moochie hates it. He thought it's not food. He wouldn't play with because it's too hard.

Smart dog...knows when you fake him out, huh? How about smoked pigs ears? Tukay will do almost anything for them. Are those available there?

Well, majority of dogs are like that when it comes to foodYou've gotta be strict & put your food down. You gotta train him or he'll go overboard!~They are not stupid, they know it's not their food but they'll always try to go beyond their boundaries

I'm not exactly sure why Moochie is thinking the food is his but I can tell you about my own dogs... and my husband! My husband would almost always give our dogs something from his plate either while he was still eating it or right after he had finished, if there was something left on the plate. This made my dogs think that they'd always get something if they sat and stared long enough. Once they began whining or even barking, I had to re-train my HUSBAND, not the dogs! Dogs should never be fed food directly from our plates. If we want them to have some of the leftovers (assuming they're healthy for our furry friends), we should always finish what we want, then put the leftovers away for awhile. If we want the dogs to have them, they should get them from somewhere else, not directly from our plates because the dogs begin to think that what is on our plates is, by all rights, theirs! Once the dogs realize that they won't be getting anything from our plates, they stop begging... or demanding. If they think their "treats" will becoming from the refrigerator or somewhere else, and ONLY when it's put into their own food bowl, they should settle down. If this is the case with your nephew, then he has to realize that he should never feed them anything that he's eating while he's eating it or right afterwards. Let some time go by before giving the dog any of it. They really will stop making the connection between the food we eat and the "treats" they get. Good luck!

Hey modstar! I think there is a problem with Moochie! He thinks that he is the boss of everyone and everything! You all seem to be afraid afraid of him! You can't let him run everyone and everything like you seem to be doing! You can't let him think that he is the boss! I am a dog lover, but you have gone wrong somewhere with Moochie! He can't attach people because they are eating! You need to train Moochie much better!

Haha! Opal that's a funny post. Yup, he's having delusions of grandeur that he is the boss. It's ok, let him enjoy his childhood. Lol!

I told you he'll take after his master eventually. :-D Sometimes, dogs just have their own rules that only they can bend! LOL

Uhmmm...Not too sure about this one. Aside from obtaining advice from a dog trainer or vet I would suggest putting him outside or confined somewhere every time he does it to teach him that negative things happen when he barks at the food and hopefully over time he will stop the behaviour. Best of luck with it!
