Today I went to a Chinese buffet around 4:30 P.M. They still serving lunch buffet with a price of $6.99. I paid for two of Lunch Buffet. When we went to get our food on the buffet table, we didn't notice there was a small sign saying "this food is for dinner." I thought every food is available for customers to get. When the check comes in, I have to pay for the dinner price of $9.99. I asked why, they told me there was a sign on the table saying "This food is for dinner." If I ate any of them, I have to pay dinner price. That is a tricky scam, and a rip - off too. I shouldn't go there ever again.

We have a chinese buffet where we live and we love it dinner is from such a time to such a time then dinner begins. The time is posted, so if you go in late for a lunch buffet and I think 4:30 would be cringing on the dinner more than lunch time. Dinner has the more expensive things like Alaskan Crab legs. If you eat off the table that said was for dinner then you pay the dinner price. Really when do you go to any buffet at 4:30 in the evening for lunch. It is not tricky or a scam, you eat so you paid.

Hi clorissa123
This is exactly a tricky scam! You should tell it to your friends too, I never encoutered this kind of scam when having meals outside. Happy myLotting~

I wouldn't have paid it. To me that seems like an easy way for them to get an extra three dollars out of people, especially people that are there with kids and aren't paying attention to signs and what not. I wouldn't go back there unless it was earlier in the day - if the sign was up then I would make a royal stink about it and let people who are going there for the dinner buffet know exactly how long that food was sitting there. We don't have that many Chinese buffets here, the one closest to the house closed and now they just serve menu stuff.

They did put a sign so it is not entirely their fault. Although, I would want to know if it is big enough for you to see and why they have to bring out dinner food at a time when they are still on the lunch hour.

I have been to Chinese buffets and the dinner is of course always more. Usually it has more expensive foods like crab, or shrimp. It is weird that they were still serving lunch at 4:30, that is really late. Very strange that they had dinner and lunch going on at the same time
, that would seem to make everything very confusing sign or no sign. I don't think they should have been allowed to do this. They need to pick which meal they are currently serving to all customers lunch or dinner, not both!
