Why Do New Christians Have More Fire for God Then Older Christians?

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately. I do not think that new Christians have more fire they are just excited about there new life and want to share more. And older Christians kinda get in a routine and forget that they are suppose to spread the word.

If you want to drink a glass of ice tea, you put ice in it and it will stay cold until the ice melts, but if you keep adding ice and filling up on tea then your glass will stay fresh and full.
But if you leave that glass of tea on the table and comeback to it a few hours later it will not be as good.
As older Christians we have to make the effort to add ice and keep it fresh. New Christians have been in the freezer and so they stay fresh longer. As a more mature Christian you have more than likly been set closer to the stove.
Sorry about the comparison it is just how I understand it.

I do not know what you are talking about. All the Christians I know are very fired up about their religion, you just have to breach the subject, yourself. That is once you show interest, be prepared to be bombarded with information true and false alike. But they do not like to share with others if no interest is shown first because of all the hate and ridicule cast there way. Not me though, I am just learning and talking with people about what it is I am learning as I learn it. Because it is taught to spread to the word, and Jesus the Christ did tell us to expect to get prosecuted for it, he did, so we would as well. But that is part of being a Christian I suppose. I have noticed though that holds true for even non Christian believers in the Lord Almighty. Such as Muslims and Jewish people, so there you have it, everyone ridicules every one else, so we all keep our heads down, unless some one asks us about it.

I have been a Christian for well over 30 years and the fire burns brightly. I believe, though, that new Christians are just like someone who first falls in love you have all those warm fuzzy feelings and enthusiasm. The marriage would burn out if there was not a settling down and working toward deeper and deeper relationship.
Now, sharing with people involves more example than hype, it involves first being concerned about the person you are sharing with than the agenda I want to push on them. It involves moving toward them by the guidance of God and not my own human will. It takes a whole ton of patience, prayer, etc. but it is well worth doing it God's way than my own. Even though the fire does not seem to burn from the outside it is poker hot on the inside!
