Craziest world records?

I am astonished to see some records mentioned on the newspaper yesterday. When I went though it I just thought why would some one want to have a record like that, there is no practical use of it! What do you think is the most craziest world record you have heard of and why people try for these kind of things?

Oh my, I would be really scared to be in his situation. Just by looking at one snake scares me, immagine being stuck to 100 of them ! How long did he stay in the bathtub do you know ? Some people really have the courage to do weird things.

um..i think it was under 20 minutes..5 in and 15 out-because he couldn't move until they removed them all,or they'd most likely bite. he had them crawling under his legs and everything..that's either really brave or really stupid, one or the other.

The name and fame is what motivates people to do those crazy things. You know there is a website which is meant to save records on video games and I am proud to say that I hold 20 world records in a particlar game!

i think when our country was celebrating 25th. Independence Day, one local tv station 'took the challege' of making the biggest flag that covered their whole building.. i cant remember how big the flag was.. but i thought it was a total waste of money.. i am proud of my country's flag, but to waste money to make such a big flag and for what... ?? they put it over their building, and after a few months.. it was dirty, faded and torn.. and later thrown away like a piece of old cloth... then i found out that in year 2000, a group of students - backed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, spread a (specially made) 2-km national flag across the Great Wall of China. Three years after that in 2003, another group of students spread a longer flag, 3.2km long across the Great Wall of China... ??.. Proud ??.. i dont know.. of course, i am proud to have other people see our national flag, but the total cost of making the flag, transporting it, the cost of getting the students over to China and whatnots... that money could have been given the students and other deserving students study loans or study grants.. that was just money not very well spent !!...

we have same thoughts over this crazy world records. what is more crazier is there lots of people who will do the same think just to break the record of any record holder for them to be in their place of being record holder. i think i will just pass this one. i will just let the person have his record and will not bother to break his record or out do him. i will just be happy as a spectator rather than the participants. i could see that here in my country they will perform this stunts or any thing they want to beat the present world record holder from other country and try to prove that they can do a better one or make a better record. just not worth it i think. and does any one bother what the world record for every thing. we even don't know what are the different world records from different people. we just tend to remember only few world records. and others are just listed in books and will not get to audience knowledge and no one would actually bother to know except for those who will buy a book of world record every year in case they do release a yearly world record book.

Hi. I feel really awkward as well while hearing about all those records. How can collecting all kind of cool drink can be useful or for that matter the book covers!

Some of those things really make me laugh, like walking over hot coles, sitting in a bath of something.eating so many mince pies,or boiled eggs in a minute.I suppose it is just a bit of fun really, but it does make you wonder who on earth made it all up in the first place, just one way you could be famous so start boiling the eggs.x

oh gosh the guiness book of world records have so many cracy things I wouldn't know what is the crasiest. But I would say any kind of stunt where you could lose your life would be the craziest to me.

I do not know which is the craziest world record as there are hundreds of them. All you have to do is go to the Guiness Book of Records or its Indian version, The Limca Book of Records and you will see the antics performed by different people. Every human being has this inbuilt urge to become well known and famous , to rise above ones identity and be known for eternity. This is a natural urge which makes people do all sorts of weird thing just for that five minutes of fame. very rarely will you find persons who wish to remain unknown or incognito.

I think the craziest ones are the hair growers, it takes so long for them to do this just to get public recognition.

Well coolmailraj, I have come across a few like: Eye-Popping Record (about 1 and a half inch or 95% out of their sockets), World's Longest Eyebrow (3 and a half inches and still growing!) and Most t-shirts worn at one time (121) It is amazing isn't it? I can't fathom how people come up with these ideas let alone attempt to break a record! Just like the woman who has the World's Longest Fingernails (33 inches), amazing statistics but no practical use whatsoever! [

Some people will do anything to have their fleeting moment in history...in this case, having their name in the book of world records. I think some of the eating contests are rediculous. Who care how many hot dogs some one can eat in 10 minutes? The only purpose I can see for that record is if that individual was coming over for dinner. I'd want to cook extra...lol.

Hi Cool.... I don't know how much but I have read that a man is holding a record of keeping the longest mostache. Is not it amazing..what is the need of keeping that long...Then there are also guinese world record of keeping longes nails...these are crazy things....however, though God did not given me mostache, I can understand how much labor he had to give to keep those long mostache....
