we weren't colonized by the Spaniards for 3 centuries, what do you think our country would be like today? How would it be any different from what it is now?

Well, i think if we weren't colonized by Spain, then eventually we would be colonized by other countries. Even the great United States of America has been colonized. If Philippines were not colonized by Spain, i think there would be no country called Philippines and i think Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao would be 3 countries and not as 1 just as of now.

i agree, i think we will be under US. Also we will have different culture coz most of them-if not all are patterned after spaniards. I think there would also be less mestizas in our country

I think we might have a good government with much respected and trusted officials, because the system in our country were in greatly influenced by the Spaniards. We acquire the system they left in us thats why the there are lots of issues of corruptions and different things to get more power and profit from the position they got on the government.

We would have been more patriotic and less having colonial mentality. I think we would progress as a nation then because we will be more united because we will be one in our thinking to "buy Filipino" and to think Filipino. The trouble now is that we have looked down upon ourselves as history has taught us to think and believe. The Spanish colonization has introduced benefits to our country, but it has also successfully divided us because it resulted our having no national identity...

I can't imagine our country not being Christian. Maybe if we're not colonized by Spaniards, we could be dominated by other countries. I don't want to change any part of history.

If we weren't colonized by Spain other countries would. I think Europe would have an eye for us then. As I have learned in my history class the main reasons why Spain colonized us was for expanding Christianism, our Gold, our spices and the strategic location of our islands that would help them in their battles. It might be different but who knows right?

I'm from Zamboanga City and we speak Chavacano here. Well if we weren't colonized by the Spaniards then i guess Chavacano wouldn't exist. That will leave Tagalog or Bisaya to be our primary language in the city. We won't be having Spanish sounding names.

I guess I am fluent with my spanish already and no need to attend a class and get a certification for this. I grew up in north eastern part of mindanao and most of the people live there understand a little bit of spanish and even so fluent with spanish prayer. With it comes to economy, woohoo! The only euro user located in asia. I think will have a better economy and leaders. I can't think of any worst thing compared to what is happening right now. Good day!
