Can you survive on $1 per day?

i think i can.i just use them for my lunch and supper.

Not me, not even homeless. I would love to know what this family does for a home, clothing and transportation.

I can not survive on thousands of dollars if have no food to eat, no water to drink no clean and healthful air to breath. Dollar is not every thing. But dollars are also every thing. we need good health and peace full situation to live here in this world and this all is also possible without dollars. believe me. Yes I can live on one dollar a day as the dollar is very expensive in my poor country.

Personally, I don't think I could. Some people might be able to, but I don't think I could. It would be possible, but it would just be very difficult for me to do so. I just don't think I could, even if I tried.

Only $30 a month, I think that is impossible. I do survive on a lot less living in Egypt than I did in American, but $1 thats crazy! If that's all I had I would be finding a way to get more or at least find someone to help take care of me.

I think I can survive on just 1$ per day.LOL,sometimes I just ate little and it just take me 1$.In my country,1$ amount to 8 yuan.I always cook dishes by myself,I only spend 1$ three meals daily.If I needn't buy some daily items,I can servive on just 1$.

I heard something about a family surviving on $1 per day. I don't think it is possible, and I don't believe it personally. I think it cost more than a dollar a day to run the basic utilities, even if you are very cautious. If I had only $1 I would be sitting at the temporary service looking for any work they would send me out on.

If i will only use it for food, maybe i will survive. I will eggs because i can do a lot of different dishes with eggs like hardboiled, softboiled, sunny side up and omelet. Fish is pretty cheap here in our country so maybe i can buy some too!

that would depend on ur lifestyle actually, if that family u saw is used to have that kind of lifestyle i would be easy for them to survive, of course we cant survive with $1 a day..

There is no way anyone could live on a $1 a day. I find it hard to live on $100 a day and still I am struggling at that. I think the only way you could live on so little, is if you were homeless and living on the streets, then you would have no choice and have to get by with $1.

They must be doing the old leaf or Sears catalogue trick because toilet paper costs more than a dollar.. Well maybe they also had chickens to lay eggs..I did have a time in my life long ago, where I lived off eggs from our chickens for weeks. Nothing but eggs and toast. But back then, I could have bought about 3-4 loaves for that dollar. Well if we could not eat for a few days, like say about 15, we could save the money and order a pizza Then not eat for 15 more..lol Well, seriously, without some other things in place, it cant be done where I live.

I will buy a flour and make bread.Eat it for a whole day.Hehe

In the Philippines, my country, there are a lot of families who have survived with $1 a day. However, they are really way below poverty line. Most of their childrena are not able to go to school, live a quality lifestyle. In fact, most of their children are malnourished. They seldom complete 3 meals a day. On the other hand, people in the province, with a land to plant vegetables, they will most likely not have a problem with a dollar a day. They still can live their lives happily. As for me, hahahah, nope I cannot live with a dollar a day. May dues every much is around $1000, I don't know how will live my life with a dollar a day. I hope that doesn't happen to me.

Can actually , if you live in a 3rd world country .. and if you live in somalia , trust me , 1$ a day , you are the king :) Jokes aside , depends on what you do , and what you wanna do .. Perhaps , for me , even 100$ a day aint enough ..

wowww... that is amazing... i don't think i can survive on $1 a day... especially with the recession and all the prices now... i don't know that there are still people who can survive on $1 a day... i am wondering how they do it... it will be nice if i can survive on $30 month... then i don't have to work that hard and i will have lots of savings in my account... :-) take care and have a nice day...

Would you mind telling us what country this family lived in?? $1 goes a lot farther in some place than it does in others.

I think that if a person knows how to hunt and fish and grow food it is possible. I lived off less for a while. We used wood for heat, got water from a well, ate a lot of fish and vegetables, did all laundry by hand, heated water for baths over the fire, washed clothes by hand. It was not easy, but it can be done.

Maybe the family had found a loophole or they are a family of hustlers.

Every country has different eoconomy situation.In China,I think that $1 is enough when they only eat vagetables.But I can't do that.I feel the meat is important in my family.Without it,I can't imagine what my life will be.

I highly doubt it. How's it possible for someone to live with $ 1 for a day, when raising a 4 member family ? You need food almost every two to three days and things these days are not cheap. I would like to see what they did with that one dollar every day. Zahfran if you use your dollar to go to casinos you'll lose your money in no time.
