Why do people insist in asking racial issued questions in here...dont we have enough crap in the world to deal with...without having to ruin our sparetime!?!

i agree with you, i dont care about the color of a persons skin and i dont want to answer questions that are racially motivated either (culturally motivated is a completely different thing) i love learning interesting things about different cultures and customs of them just as long as it stays focused on that and does not because a race issue, we are one race on this planet, the human race

good points!!!...Different cultures can b interesting...but racially motiveted questions can just turn out hateful if your not careful...and i shouldnt have to worry about that.

giving a + for the discussion and for your response, i apprectiate the feedback that goes begond thanks as that doesnt help the discussion continue on (i am going back through some of the posts where i didnt tell people i gave them a + and letting them know, i like to know just for the fact i can tell which type of discussions people are actually interested in and think are valuable)

at first i replied to some of those, but got tired of them. they just seem to think it would earn a lot of responses that they keep on making such discussions. i just ignore them now.

I think most the time they're hoping it riles people up and gets them to answer. Hey 200 pi$$ed off people are worth more $ here on mylot than 20 happy ones! I personally don't bother, even if a question riles me up I know it's put out there just to do that. I prefer real convos.

I'd rather b part of the 20 than the 200...better convos.

Okay, initially I read this and thought that it is just people wanting more of the PC behavior here in a forum. I am actually very stimulated by illuminating others on racial issues. It is my life's work. I choose to do it in my own life though. I touch people one at a time. So that is where I am coming from. So then I read your posts, and replies from posts and well I see your point. I just joined and hmmm let's see, what am I going to talk about? What interests my life, what stimulates me. I like to have intelligent conversations about race relations. I don't come from a place of hate, and so I guess I was just naive about the fact that it may bring out those types of people. My personal favorite thing to do is bring to the surface gut reaction thoughts of people and explore where they come from. I think if people have no idea certain beliefs exist in them, they are uncomfortable and feel stressed to be PC. Afraid a past belief will come bursting out of them at an inappropriate time. Such as the guy or girl who says something that could be perceived as prejudice and then adds, I have nothing against (black/white people) I have many (black/white) friends. That drives me crazy! Bonkers. If they could uncover a few basic core beliefs (beliefs they held in the past or were passed down from another generation) they could think through how silly that view is/was and could form a new basic core belief. Do you get my drift. But thanks for your thoughts. It was thought provoking. :)

for me its more about gettin on with dayd to day life without having to deal with the unneccesary...and racism and racial issues seem to clog up life...it puts up rodablocks and just makes it so much harder to deal with life as it is.

I agree that people shouldn't ask them, not if they are mean spirited at least. I don't recall seeing any racial issued questions here in MyLot myself however. I think the best thing to do, if you do run across them is just to not respond. Afterall, you don't want to help a person posting such hate by responding and helping their ratings!

I haven't really seen too many racial posts in here. There are quite a few asking about the perspective of those in different countries, but isn't seeking to understand each other, and why we each think the way we do, a good combat against racism?
