I dont' mind it. In fact, I think it's cute. It's just all a matter of what kind of earrings they wear. I just can't stand to see guys who wear the hoop earrings because that is taking it a little too far. My son is still a baby so it won't happen just yet but I know when he is older his father will want both his ears pierced because his are..

Is a boy's ear really so different from a girl's? There's a long history of both male and females getting their ears pierced so I don't really think of it as a gender issue. Still, some people will always disapprove of a boy getting his ears pierced -- that has to be at least considered because it could lead to difficulties finding employment and affect how one is treated socially. I think more people than not would accept it, however, so I don't think you're wrong to support your son's decision. On the other hand, you might ant to ask why he wants it to be done. I don't have my ears pierced because I couldn't stand the idea of mutilating my body just in order to look a certain way. Has he thought of it in that way before -- does he really want to permanently change his body in a small way just for the sake of fashion?

Hi.
For me it totally depends on the person in question and not the whole species called boys. I don't have a hole in my ear and that doesn't mean that no one should have it. I know I can't carry it that well so I am not going for a drilled ear.

Ear peercing has become more of a fashion that social requirement. In olden days, it was limited mostly to females but evidence suggest that in some asian countries like india or pakistan, males had it too and they used smaller and simple golden ear rings. There is nothing bad in ear piercing.
