Do You Think it is Wrong to not Believe in God?

Well, I don't think it's wrong. I think that if you know in your heart that you are a good person, if you are doing what you believe is right, and if you are not enflicting any harm in doing what you think is right, then you are a good person and will not recieve any punishments after death. But I also think that is is perfectly fine to believe in God. If you do, awesome! You may get your rewards when you die. If not, oh well... you lived a good life. I personally do not believe in God, but then again, I really don't care who does or doesn't. Right or wrong does not really have to do with what you believe in or how you act upon believing in something/someone. Not sure if that made sense, but to me it did, so yay! But anyway, I personally do not think it is wrong to not believe in God. We are all only 50% right anyway. ALL of us are 50% wrong, too. Only because there is no actual logical proof. What do you think? Is it wrong to not believe in any higher power?

I think it is not wrong to not believe in God...If... You never know about God(Jesus)... But, it's totally wrong when You already know about God(Jesus), then You just reject HIM... If You a Good Persons, then it will be PERFECT to know about Jesus... Let me tell you this... This universe doesn't exist just like that. There is "Someone" who's create it. And "Someone" who's create it "Loves You"... Because You are a Good Person for "Someone" who's create this universe... And that "Someone" want to guide you to be more Good for the Perfections of the creations... God, Thank You very much that You gave me those word to wrote for responding that Good Person discussions... Amen

A friend once said to me "If you believe in God and in the end, he does not exist, what have you lost? But if you do not believe in God and in the end he does exist, what will you do and how would you feel then?" I believe in God, I always have and I know he exists because of all the blessings that I have in my life and I do not mean materialistic things. I mean love, compassion and forgiving others while also trying to forgive myself when I stumble. If I know someone who doesn't believe in God, I do not judge them for that. I feel sorry that they do not experience the feeling of being something greater than just themselves. I would not try and convert them but if they asked me about my beliefs I would talk to them and tell them how I believe in God, not religions but GOD. People should not be judged on religious beliefs, no more than they should be judged on the color of their skin. Take Care and Blessings to All

I TOTALLY felt that response! Very bold of you to say that you KNOW (As if asserting that you mean you know for a fact, 100% there IS a God) when really your 100% is only 50% - I say this because I do not **entirely** agree with you - but with your friend. What CAN you lose? What HAVE you gained? Never can tell; never can know. Thanks for sharing this with everyone! I'm sure many others agree with you as much as with your friend!

Is it wrong to not believe in any higher power? God has given us all free will to serve Him or not. Believe it or not you're serving something. You're either serving God Almighty or the devil. You're either hot or cold and if you're lukewarm God will spit you outta His mouth. Let those who have ears hear. In the end you will have your answer for certain. So you can believe that there is no God above it is definitely your choice. God is ALWAYS proving Himself true whether you want to admit it or not. To God be the glory forever and ever.

I kind of agree with the facist input - people are people, yano? To demand what is right and what is wrong is like saying "I know 100% that this IS how it simply IS." when people do NOT know for sure. I like your enthusiasm toward this subject - Thanks!

Believe or not to believe in God? always depend on you, some people that not to believe may never get some problem in their live. If some one get problem my be he want someone or something to make he free from his problem. When the problem solve , it is make him belive in higher power that called God. Yes seeing is believing.. but sometime we forced to believe what we never show.

Some like to think that whenever something good happens, it's a sign that God loves them. When something bad goes on, suddenly God doesn't exist. People that believe in God, awesome, good for you, and all that... but people that don't believe... Never know. I mean, I really don't see the logic in it - I'm just livin' my life - no one elses. Thanks for the response, artham! You made a good point!

Thanks so much! As mentioned, we're only 50% sure anyway. I like to call this my "Fifty-Percent Hypothesis", I don't say theory because even I don't have proof!

I know that my Gods are real. but that doesn't mean that it is "wrong" for other people not to believe. while I believe that they are factually incorrect not to believe in my Gods, it would be wrong of them to believe anything that they don't truly feel in their heart. it would be foolish to believe in something just because someone else considers it the right thing to believe.

Your reasoning is perfectly logical. I agree with you. Its every one's personal choice whether or not to believe in God. The most important thing is to be doing things in this world. You sound like a good person, and I hope you never let anyone tell you how to live your life. You decide how to live, and stick by your decision!

bloo_equinox, you are free to believe in God or not. He gives us the freedom of choice. Oh and yes, by the way I do firmly believe in God. God doesn't force us to believe in or follow him. Now let's say that you're right and there isn't a God, then I will be fine right? But now let's say that there is in fact a God, which I truly believe there is, then would you say dear one that you are in fact in trouble? If you don't believe in God then you most definitely don't believe in his only begotten son Jesus Christ who is my personal Savior and that's alright because after all, we all have to travel our own roads and answer to Him when he comes for us. I have gone through some heartbreaking things in my life and I have prayed to my God in Heaven through my Savior's name to bring me out of some tough situations and He did. Praise be to God Almighty always and forever, Amen!

I will never be right. I will always be 50% right. You will always be 50% wrong. MAYBE He is your God/Saviour. well... It is possible. Please re-read my topic. I'm sure you will understant what I mean. KEY PHRASES: 50% wrong/right (only half, a good percentage!), Possible/Possibility (perhaps, perchance, MAYBE, kind of, Fifty/Fifty) Remember: You are not a personal friend to God - you don't know 100% of the time what he does or does not do. HOWEVER... PLEASE FINISH READING BEFORE BECOMING UPSET: I like that you stand up for what you believe in, I LOVE that you can say "THERE IS!" and not feel guilty for not considering what may truely (possibly) be - it just shows that you think you know what is right or wrong, and you are willing to do anything to be strong for what you truely believe in! Thanks for sharing!

Each of us has the right to believe how we want to believe. Some people were not raised to believe in God, as for me, I was, I believe in a higher power. Does this make you any less of a good person just because you don't believe, no. Do I think there will be a judgement day. yes

I really love how you say "I think" instead of "I know", it just makes me really think that you understand what I'm saying. Though you belive there is a God, I feel more obliged to say that you are now experiencing only 50% of your proof of God. This is not an insult - but do you really know? I sound like I'm pushing my beliefs on people, but I'm not. Even I'm not 100% sure. I'm 50% wrong. :)

I don't think it's wrong to not believe in God. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Some people believe and some people not. Also, I agree if you believe in your heart that you're a good person, you will not go to eternal punishment.

it is your option to believe or not. it is not for me or anyone to judge anyone else on what they believe or don't believe. I believe in God. In my mind I don't understand how anyone couldn't believe but I respect them just the same.

I don't think its wrong to believe in any higher power, it actually gives us a little hope when we are low. But I don't feel that its absolutely necessary to believe in some higher power. What's necessary is that one should understand the difference between good and bad and not follow anything blindly. we are humans and must be rational in our decisions and though our emotions play a very big role in our life, we must also keep other people's emotions in our thoughts. I myself am a Christian and I believe in GOD but still I can't say that I will have a very good afterlife, cause knowing or not knowing, religious or not, every one of us commits something wrong and forget to apologize. Take care

I don't think that it is wrong in not believing in god.Because we can see many peoples around us who not believe in God. No one can be forced to believe in god.

Of course not, we have no rights to judge other people what they are thinking. Every human being living above the earth have the free will to choose what he wants to believe. We cannot push him to believe on something that he does not believe because it against his free will. so that's it.

There is nothing wrong in believing or not believing the GOD. It is a personal choice and more of a feeling attached to certain level of personal emotions. A culture and environment places a important role in this aspect. As long as a human being believes in humanity and of course practices these values, I feel there is nothing wrong about his personal choices. Believe in yourself and humanity values, follow them. With these values, you can always believe in GOD (atleast Nature is our GOD for an atheist view) to feel your role in life, responsibilities, mistakes, growth strategies and to understand your life as a whole!

Its not wrong. Its wrong saying to ppl that believe in a 'god' that they can't. It is up to the person, to believe in it or not. Not for annother person to pick for him.

it is really wrong to believe in God. How can a creature take for granted its Creator!! how can a creature deny that Somebody greater and wiser Created him/her?
