Home, Cell, Both?

Many people use their cell phone as their home phone. I have started doing this myself to cut costs. Since i have a cell phone that I can take around with me, I really don't see a real need to get a home phone. How about you - Do you use your cell phone as your home phone - or do you have both?

I have both but the home phone does not get used that much as we tend to use the cell phones more. I was thinking of getting rid of the home phone as it seems a bit of a watse of money.

Yes I would tend to agree since cell phones are so common and are so cheap to run these days, people can save a lot of money on a home land line.

We have both the cell phone and land line. But our service for our cell phone provider isn't as good as it should be for us to switch completely to them. New towers were put up in a town near us, but it only made it possible for us to get a little signal in our house, not powerful enough to get rid of our phones in the house. Besides, the telephone company is my DSL provider. If we changed, then that would go sky high.

Well I use MetroPcs unlimited local and long distance and mine works great! I don't know if this service is available in your area, if so you might wanna check into it.

MetroPCs isn't available in our zip code area. We live out in the country and it's hard to get anything. We really live farther than the phone company DSL is suppose to service, but they tried us anyway. We don't get the best they have but it is far better than dial-up! Hopefully, one day they will put in new hubs and one will be near us.

I have both a cell phone and a home phone, and I use both. If I am calling someone on their cell, I use my cell, but if I am calling someone on their home phone, I use my home phone as it's a lot cheaper. Cell phones are great, but rather expensive (in Australia anyway).

I have a cell, I also have to have a landline, because the roomie works from home and they require her to have a landline for work. That doesn't mean we don't all also have cell phones...

I have both. The cellphone is quite important today and almost everybody will have one. As to the home phone, I also think it is necessary. At least we need it as long as we have the ADSL to access to the internet. Besides, it is free for everybody to call you. Whereas I must pay for it even if someone wants to call my cellphone. This is why I prefer people to call my home phone when I am at home. I love China

I still have both because I am home more than I am not. Plus with as much as a few relatives call I'd be out of minutes in a week!!! And I also can't justify upgrading my phone and minutes when I don't work alot or as I mentioned unless I'm working part time or running errands I'm home.

I think that cell phone is very convenient, need not home machine, the machine seems to be the redundant, mobile phone can at any time anywhere on the phone, seems to replace the function of the machine

We don't have a home phone. I think it is more convenient to have cellphones as you can contact the person wherever he is. Having a home phone would just be another unnecessary expense for my family.
