Parents Television Council doing what it does best, trying to enforce their will on everyone else. PTC, who have nothing better to do, have launched an assault against Fox's new network show, the Osbourne's variety show. Now by no stretch of the imagination am I a fan of the Osbourn's. I did not watch their show on MTV and have no plans on watching this show on Fox. As far as I see it the Osbourn's are fouled-mouthed celebrities with nothing better to do than to waste the time of those who do watch their shows. But if you want to waste your vaulible time to watch this show that will probably only last for a month or so then go right ahead. I have 120 channels to choose from and a TV remote that actually works. Maybe the PTC should do the same thing.

i had a feeling they'd go after ozzy.
i don't know what they're freaking about,i've seen more things slip by on south park.but yea, they should definetly change the channel.
my question is,why are some of the kids they say they're protecting, even up to watch the shows they say are offensive?they never mention that part..

Well, with TiVO you can now watch things at times different than scheduled.

I watched the show, and I enjoyed it, but no freaking way would I be letting my kids watch it! My kids only watch things I think are suitable for children, it's not hard to do! I don't need some new fangled version of Tipper Gore's PMRC trying to tell me what I, an adult, may watch in the privacy of MY own home! I'll watch whatever I damned please and I am the parent, I am perfectly capable of monitoring what I allow my kids to watch, I don't need a bunch of nanny-state endorsing hand wringing nitwits to do it for me!

I have a way to make sure that everything works and that no one is offended, make sure that shows like the Osbourn's come on after nine pm. You do not need to ban them from appearing, you can put them on the no section of your parental control, you can turn off the Tv, you can switch to another channel. So there are ways that will give you control.
The trouble is if it is a variety show, and it is on a regular channel, you cannot forbid that show from appearing. But you can just switch the channel or leave the tv off during that time or watch a Dvd instead.

Well, I agree with you there... if you don't like what you're watching, why don't you just turn it off?!? I don't like sports but I'm not about to put together a committee to get them off the air. I just don't watch them! In fact, I watch very little TV anymore.
