Should I call... or wait?

I had a job interview last week, on Wednesday. I was told they have other candidates to interview, but I would get an answer either way 'very soon.' I am so anxious and can't stand waiting, but I don't want to seem pushy. Should I call and ask if a decision has been made or try to be patient and wait? If I do call, what do I say? I'm frustrated and tired of waiting by the phone. Thoughts?

I would call. Right now. Before you read another word :) lol Seriously though I think that if you still haven't called them then you should definitely give them a call. I would probably given them a call on Friday sometime and at the latest Monday morning. I am not sure how I would have gotten through the weekend otherwise.

I forgot to say what I would say when I called. Something along the lines of Hi it's ____________________ Just ringing to see if you had made a decision on the position. I don't mean to be pushy but I am so excited about the thought of working with you, well that and the fact I need to know what to say if any other positions are offered to me.... The words would probably come flying out at a million words a minute but that can't be helped! In today's job market I don't think there is a thing as to pushy. Good luck with it all, I am sure all will work out for the best. ~ fairy wishes & butterfly kisses ~

I called and was told they have another person to interview and will have a decision by tomorrow. Don't they realize how difficult it is to wait? What takes so long?

Better wait. Patience, they say, is a virtue. Though, some companies would appreciate an applicant's call for update. To some companies, they think this means an applicant is really serious to get the job. But, to most companies, it is not a positive attitude. When they told you to wait for the decision, then, just do as what was instructed. They will surely call if you qualified. What you should do is forget that someone from any company promised to call. Who knows, you'd just receive a call one day?

If you have not heard anything back from them by Wednesday afternoon I would call them. I would give them a week to get back to you before calling. Good luck! I really hope you are the one that they pick for the job.

I wouldn't call. I am surprised they didn't say when to expect a call. I had a interview a while back. She said she had a few other people to interview and if i got the job i would here back by friday. Which was only four days. I never heard back. I just would wait though. I hope you do hear something. GOod luck.
