no prom date

I am not real sure how to handle this little promble that I have my son is going to the prom he had a date they are just friends and now she tells him that she isn't going gives him this really dumb thing aobut forgetting she was going to someone house to watch movies now listen that is just mean he think low of hiself anyway and this isn't helping him some of the people around the lunch table today made fun of him because she had told him that I don't understand why people have to be so mean and nasty he trys so hard to be good to everyone and he is everyones best friend he is just one of thoses people he always has a smile and why this girl is this way I don't know but you know it's her lost....

That is very cold of the girl. Try to do something speical with your son on the night of the prom. There is no way to sooth a person that has this happen to them. Sounds to me like she was setting him up from the beginning. You can be there for him but he needs to handle this himself. What ever happens let him know that you are there for him no matter what.
