Hanging up on my son

My son is stationed in Sasebo Japan and I don't get to talk to him very often. Because of the time difference he's usually calling me at midnight or 8am (when I'm leaving for work). This morning he called to give me his flight info so I can pick him up Wednesday (he'll be home for a couple weeks - woohoo!!!). We talked for about 45 minutes and I finally had to tell him I had to get off the phone and get ready for work - I shoulda been at work by this time. I felt bad to have to hang up, but he'll be home in 2 days and I'll get to talk to him a lot! If it wasn't for that I would have kept talking until his battery went dead. My boss is very understanding and knows that if my son calls I'm going to talk to him, so it wasn't a big deal when I was a half hour late today. I CAN'T WAIT FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!!

How exciting that your son is getting to come home for a visit. I don't blame you at all for talking to him as long as you can when you can and it is also wonderful that you have an understanding boss. Will you be able to have time off from work while your son is home? Enjoy every second of being with him while he is home.

Yeah, I'm taking off the 16th and 17th. He's happy because I can take him out to lunch for his birthday :) He's too funny though, he talked the whole way home from the airport, and is up and talking already this morning.

Hey reiny! I know how excited you are to see your son! And only two more days to wait! It must feel like an eternity! I am sure you are going crazy counting the seconds to picking him up! I know that you are going to have the best time with him him for the next few weeks! Just hang in there it will be soon! I know that this is really hard for you and especially since it is at the end of the busiest time for you, but it is only two more days! You will make it! So enjoy your son's vist and tell us all about it when you have the time!

It was funny last night because my boss told me to leave early (well, at 7pm) but there wasn't going to be anything for me to do at the airport but wait so I just stayed at work until his flight got in. I only work about 15 minutes from the airport - I'm sure I saw his plane coming in as I walked out of the office!

I'll be taking him out to lunch next week for his birthday, then we're having all the family over on the weekend. Yesterday was a long day, but he's home for a bit now so that's cool!
