This so called Conflicker virus, has any one had any problems so far?? I saw it on yahoo and followed the steps they said we should do, well guess what? Those steps messed up my laptop and nothing else has. My McAffe is down and I can not get it reloaded, my photos will not run in a slideshow as it use to and suposedly my java is messed up even though I went to java.com and redownloaded it. God only knows what will be next. I am just at the point that after this I will not listen to any more of this virus crap and hope my laptop is covered. It's the first time I have listened or done anything about a virus other than making sure my laptop is protected by my McAffe and now I totally regret it. Any body else feel this way too???

I have read up on this virus and it is the only one that I found to be not a joke, it will happen and has been going on for quite sometime now,the only joke about it was when the owners or makers of it were going to upgrade it's affects. This was to be April 1st. It did not happen then but it is going to hit and hard, go to microsoft.com and read about it.

I actually have a Mac so therefore I was graced by not having to deal with the problem, but my roommates both use Vista and neither of them were even worried about the virus and I was the one trying to warn them about how potentially dangerous it could be for their stuff. Neither of them are still infected though. For them - whenever they have problems they're "fixing" includes just completely reformating the computer. Its what my grandpa does as well because he would rather lose somethings he forgot to back up than pay a couple hundred to get it fixed.

I tried a system restore and even chose my own restore point, this didn't help alot but some. I finally got McAfee to download and operate again but I am still having problems with slideshows. Not a major deal but I use it so it makes me upset not being able to. I just should have trusted my McAfee as I have always done, next time I surely will. Thanks to all of you who answered and offered advice. Rosered
