Sachin tendulkar has been known for his knack of picking up wickets and brought to bowl many a times to break a partnership. Today he picked up two important wickets of franklin and mcullum. I have always felt he has been underbowled in his career and should have bowled in every match as he has a lot of variety in his bowling. He has also won india matches due to his bowling. He almost won this test match for india too with his bowling but ishant sharma could not take a simple catch of ian o brien off tendulkar's bowling. Had he taken that catch india would have easily won the match as everyone knows chris martin cannot bat. I really enjoy watching him bowl. What do you say...should he be given a chance to bowl more often or not?

Yes definitely, I feel tendulkar must be given a chance to bowl every match as he is known for breaking partnership and also he can turn the ball more kumble used to turn it. He has a great potential yet left in him after so many years & now i feel that he should be given more chances when a partnership seems to be flourishing of the opponent team. Also his judgement in his lbw decisions is very confident as the umpires thinks that when he appeals the batsman is definitely out & so they go by his decision.

yes he has the knack of picking up wickets and he can turn the ball on any surface and can be pretty dangerous on a spinning track as he showed in the third test match. hope he gets to bowl more than he has. thanks for replying. happy mylotting.

No, he should not bowl to much, because he is turing 37 this month, at this age he is playing with the bat is a privilege for us. We can not afford to get him injured by doing bowling.

yuvraj singh is of no use in test matches. if anil kumble is expected to bat and make runs when he is mainly a bowler and he even scored a century if you remember at a similar age then why cannot sachin bowl?

I feel you exaggerated on the last sentence there but it is true he can spin the ball on any surface. And if he bowls on a spinning wicket he can make the ball go spinning in any and every possible direction like we saw in the third where he spun the ball much more than harbhajan coukd manage in the whole series.

you know what i couldn't agree more. And you can always go to sehwag or yuvi if you want variety , dont risk sachin he is too precious.

if jayasurya can bowl consistently at the age of 40 ,why cant sachin?sure he got some problem with his elbows but as u have said he is not a quickie though he can bowl those seam up delieveries.i always thought a guy with such variety could have bowled more.during one of the pakistan matches,he bowled around the wicket.he bowled with shane warne's action and surprisingly his balls did turn a long way in that match.pitching 2 feet outside leg and hitting off stumps.lol.hope he will rest for the first few matches of IPL and take rest.we dont want him to waste his precious time on a money making baseball game.

He missed a lot of ipl matches in the first edition and everyone waited as to when he would actually play the first match and the wait was worthwile. But he will not make any such delay this time as he is fully comitted and it means a lot to him playing for his team and lead from the front too as he is the captain. He will do everything to make sure his team makes the semi finals this time.

I think because of the injury he is unable to bowl regularly these days. Tendulkar while bowling is known as PARTNERSHIP BREAKER. He might give off runs but at the same time takes wickets too. If not wickets atleast a wicket to break a partnership. It was good to see him bowl during the 3rd test b/w India and NZ... He could have ended taking up 3 wickets, if Ishant had not dropped an catch of Tendulkar. Hopefully Tendulkar will bowl much in the coming series as and when required.

its been a long time since his injury still he is not bowling regularly. you are right he might give away runs but pick up at least a wicket and that is the most important thing in test cricket. thanks for replying. happy mylotting.

I agree with what you said that Sachin should bowl more often and earlier he did. He has the capability of moving the both the sides. But ever since he had tennis elbow he has not been called to ball and we all know it. The Indian team will not take a chance with Sachin by asking him to ball more often but whenever there is a need to ball he is always there.

it is notthat he has never bowled after the tennis elboe happened. he has bowled lesser but it seems like he never bowled because he was given very less chances. i think that is a mistake there and sachin should be given a chance to bowl on at least spin friendly pitches. thsnks for the reply. happy mylotting.

he might be expensive in odi cricket and there is yuvraj singh whoc can bowl in odi cricket. but he should bowl in test cricket and get a few wickets to contribute to the team's cause.

Certainly the ball can be given to him for a spell 3 or 4 overs in ODIs

Friend, Sachin has been a part time bowler. He is more known for his batting then bowling. If we look at how well the bowlers in the present Indian cricket team are bowling, does we really need Sachin to bowl. He should concentrate more on his batting at this time of his career to reach new hieght and set new records.

seriously speaking indian bowlers are still not good at making the killer blow. many a times they let the early initiative let go. and it was because the main bowlers could not take the wickets that dhoni had to turn to sachin who more often than not picks a wicket especially when the pitch offers some turn. he is a world class batsmen so bowling a few overs will not affect his batting in any way.

Even murlitharan is not young nor is sanath jaysuria. So age has nothing to do with it and actually sachin has a good bowling record as he is a part time bowler not a regular bowler. And have you forgotten at what age anil kumble got a test century even though he is a bowler.

Sachins previous record as Bowler and Captain is average. Agreed his bowling style is excellent but at 35 he is not getting younger either. I have a dream that he creates such records during his cricketing career that is unbeatable atleast during our life-time in the world. I believe that he should concetrate on his batting more as time and again he has denied himself Captaincy of the team to focus himself on his batting.

yes i think , sachin should be given a chance for bolling more or he should retire, becaz vaise bhi he has become too old now days and he can not bat that well so , i think the best way he can only do for the team is ball , lol.

you must really be joking. he made a match winning century in the first test match. he top scored in the first innings of the third test match. some people like you just like to criticize him no matter how well he plays. thanks for the reply.

Yeah I agree that Sachin should be bowling quiet often but other than the team who knows how his elbow is?He has been a partnership breaker so many times but you really cant ask him to bowl continuosly for longer spells as his line & length is not upto the mark.He is best when given a chance to bowl for 4-5 overs but not more than that.
@pratik87 (1927)

yes his elbow and fitness should be taken into consideration but i think he should be used. and he is a part time bowler so the question of giving him longer spells does not arise. thanks for the reply. happy mylotting.

I am very big fan of sachin tendulkar.He is a person who can be called as a all rounder because yet times when india wants a wicket he helps a lot in taking the important wickets also.AS all of us know he is an extra ordinary batsman he is also a good bowler and good fielder also.because of his shoulder problem he has not bowled for some period.but he is a crucial player in the indian team and i always enjoy his playing.

yes he is a very crucial payer he has been a very good fielder throughout his career and a more than useful bowler as well. not to mention about his batting exploits. the only point i have is that he should be allowed to bowl as he can win matches with his bowling as well. thank you for the reply.

even i like to watch sachin bowl his variety of deliveries and i agree with you. he could have been a good allrounder for india but maybe he is such a good batsmen that they do not want to burden him with bowling as well. i think he is doing a lot for the team with his bat alone.
@pratik87 (1927)

yes agreed we dont want to burden him with everything but bowling a few overs here and there would not be such a burden right. i am sure even sachin would like to make a contribution towards the team with his bowling.

tendulkar does offer a lot of variety, I think he should bowl but not a lot as he is ageing and problems now could end his carrer... and most of us would not like that to happen. I am sure they do an assessment to make sure he is fit to bowl...lets hope he remains fit and bowls a few overs in future matches

of course he should not bowl long spells that is what the main bowlers are for. but bringing him at certain times will almost guarantee you a wicket.and that is what you need to win matches. thanks for replying. happy mylotting

Truly I too feel like Sachin should have bowled in every match he plays. He is a good spinner of the ball and can spin in both ways! It is amazing to see him bowl even if he goes for some runs initially, he settles down in good way after few overs. I have seen many matches where he has broken Australian team by taking 5 wickets! Telling my wish, I too care for his health. He is almost reaching end of his career even though he loves cricket more than anything. I love his love for the game and country, but wish him to play more games and for more years ahead. So I wish him to keep his health in tact and sometimes I feel myself that expecting too much of him (both to bowl, bat and hit centuries in every match) is bad. After all, he is too a human being and may feel fatigue.

yes it is true it may not be right to overburden him but we have to take in consideration that he is not a pace bowler and bowling a few few overs now and again wont make that much of a difference for a man who has kept himself fit in the game for 20 years. and he would be willing to work hard on his fitness if he had to if he were given a chance to bowl.
