i dont really know that much about paypal but i wouldn't give "anyone" my account number on a computer or my social security number. do all you can to find out why you need to give that number over the pc maybe there's a main number you can call, hopefully you;ll get your answer here. i'll ask my friend when she gets home and see if i can get ya some good info. i do know some sites have paypal as a more or less credit card and you can buy whatever you want online and pay for whatever you buy online thru paypal. but again be careful before you give out any numbers on your money there's just too many scams out there.

Don't be alarmed...it is a normal question. Normally when people set up a PayPal account in the past, it was to pay for something (generally through Ebay) as PayPal became more popular, they we able to create accounts that would allow for deposits. You still need the account information listed so that you can withdraw the money, otherwise, you will be stuck only being able to purchase items where PayPal is accepted. There will be nothing charged to the bank account. It just works both ways, deposits and withdraws. As long as you don't make any purchases with it, you will be fine.

that is like, if you are going to purchase from ebay, retail chain, etc. off the internet. i never did put my bank account number on my account, so i don't think you have to have it.
