What would you pack in your picnic basket?

I haven't been on a picnic for a long time, but when I did I used to take things like egg sandwiches, some tomatoes, bananas, crisps, little cakes and some juice to drink. Sadly I didn't have a proper picnic basket, usually just a carrier bag! In the films you see people very well prepared, with a rug and lots of exciting things to eat and drink. How about you do you have picnics? What would you take if you were going on a picnic?

I like the idea of watermelon, that's so refreshing.

We used to take sandwiches, fruit, maybe some chips and something to drink, either tea or soft drinks. Like you, I haven't been in a very long time. I never owned a picnic basket, either! We used paper sacks at first, then acquired an cooler to keep food safer and drinks cold. If I were going now, I'd probably do it the same way.
