an 11 year olds idea of constitutional rights...

My almost 11 year old daughter has recently informed me that the US Constitution states that all people are created equal and that the second ammendment guarantees her "freedom of speech". In her opinion this allows her the right to speak disrespectfully and at times raise her voice to adults. We all know that this is not the case so....What would be your initial response? How would you respond to her?

I would explain to her that yes the second ammendment guarantees her "freedom of speech" but it does not give the right to be disrespectful. And definitely not the right to raise her voice to a adult. If she wants me to listen she needs to keep her voice at a normal level and always talk to me with respect. Than I will listen to her. Which doesn't mean I have to go along with what she is saying but that I will listen and weigh what she says.
