I am glad this station stepped up to host the Daytime Emmys. Way to go CW! Will you watch? http://www.soapcentral.com/soapcentral/news/2009/0330-emmy_broadcast.php The Daytime Emmys live on. As reported last month, the CW has stepped up to play host to this year's Emmy telecast. CBS passed on its turn to broadcast the show, NBC stopped broadcasting the Emmys in 2004, and both ABC and SOAPnet declined to play host. The broadcast for this year's Emmys won't take place until the end of August -- and don't expect the Emmy nominations until the middle of May. While I am interested in it, it will depend on whether there are conflicts with other shows. I would be more interested in an expanded redcarpet show to be able to see and hear more of my favorite actors. In recent years the redcarpet has been almost non-existant. I am glad it will be televised; it deserves it more than the overabundance of music award shows, there are just too many of them.

That is very true! On the other hand, I can DVR it and watch just the interesting stuff.

I heard the CW was going to take it. I think it will be an asset to their network. Sure, it is a step down for the Daytime Emmys, but it is much better than having it not shown on television at all. I mean the actors, game show hosts, writers, kid show creators...this is about the only public recognition they will get. Maybe it will work out well for both the network's interests, and the game shows, soap operas, and children's shows. All the arenas that the Daytime Emmys cover.

I wonder who will be the host this year.
