midnight shopping...

Do you have a tendency to go shopping late at night to early in the morning like say 1 a.m.? I know that there are time like right now I'm sicker than a dog and really don't feel like being out tomorrow and getting my shopping done with all the others that need their shopping done so I'm sitting here thinking about going to walmart since it's 24 hours and getting some of my shopping done. The nice thing is that they price match so as long as I have the add for Giant Eagle they'll match it .. The only thing is I won't earn points towards my gas. grrrr. I like that aspect of giant eagle. I have 30cents off currently but I'm hoping to get another 30 cents off after tomorrow. since I'm close to the 40 cent mark. But all in all I usually when sick or when I want to avoid the crowds I do the late night walmart stop .. What about you?

When I was younger, I always did my shopping late at night. Now that I am older, I am sleeping by then, and won't stay up to go shopping. The latest I will go now is 7 or 8 at night. I want to be done, home, and in bed no later than 11.

I can't do that, my younger siblings will get sleepy. Besides, I don't feel safe to return so late at night. Usually I'll stock up the cart and return before 9.00 p.m.

Several years back me and HUbby would go about 3 am to shop and that was to beat the heat here in Vegas which at that time could be still 104 at 4 am . but the darkness made it seem cooler for some reason!

yup when it gets hot here it gets HOT. When the temp gets up to 123 degrees in the day time its hard to breath sure glad we have a misting system. helps keep the patio cooler by 10 to 20 degrees.

I don't make it a habit, but I have gone shopping late at night around the same time before. One time that I had gone I went to one of the Wal-Mart's that are open 24 hours a day and to my surprise it was crowded! I guess everyone else had the same idea to shop late at night. LOL

Cos I can't drive myself anymore I can't usually do this honey - someone has to be in the house with the kids even if they are sleeping! I know Niall is old enough to look after his sister but he sleeps through anything so I wouldn't feel safe doing this! I used to do it quite often as the roads were a lot clearer and when you got to the shop it was a lot easier to get everything you needed and home again! I would love to do that this week with the kids away but the other half is on early starts this week so won't want to go shopping in the middle of the night! xxxx

Went to the fast trac in the hospital which they did chest xrays and gave me antibiotics and a breathing treatment as I was having a hard time breathing, then gave me prescriptions gallore to get at the pharmacy yeah me. So I'm tired and drained and just wishing that i had the energy to sit here and get all the things I wanted to do done today. but I don't .. I'm going to be going and letting myself in stay and soak the steam of a hot shower so I can breath better even after using the inhaler. LOL!!!!

Hi, bellaofchaos! Yes, I do like to do midnight shopping. I hate when they have the long lines. I like to go to Walmart when they are not crowded and quiet. It is less people. But, the only thing that I hate about going late is that the clothing section and jewerly section is closed. We can only buy food and other merchandise. I love shopping at Walmart especially when I get to use my gift cards.

I've been late night shopping a few times. It's easier, but at times like Christmas and Easter, it still seems to get busy at night. We have a number of supermarkets which open 24 hours here, except for Saturday and Sunday, so we still have the choice. It's a shame about your gas discount though. Brightest Blessings.

I sleep like maybe at most 5 hours a day if I'm lucky. I sleep from 2am to about 7 am .. On weekends I tend to get a bit more or if the kids have off I tend to get a bit more of sleep unless they wake up with a vengence if you know what I mean.

I live 10 miles from the nearest 24 hour supermarkets in the nearby county town of Enniskillen, and where I work is 4 miles nearer town than my place on the same road..I like to kill the 2 birds with one stone and go into town after work, being that much closer to town, pick up most of my weekly shop when it's quieter, and save a little by combining the shop and the commute into one trip!

Very nice way of doing things with the gas prices being so far up.. You get the benefits of not having to deal with tons of shoppers and plus you get the benefit of saving gas..

You are lucky to have a store that is open 24 hours a day... that way if one does not have time during the day... shopping can always be done late at night... i always wished we have such a store... most malls are close by 10 pm... and that is already a great change because in the past... they close as early as 6 pm...

yep I consider it lucky to be able to get to a 24 hour store. Our giant eagle use to be 24hrs but then they decided to close I think at 10 or 11pm because not a lot of people were going there anymore because the superwalmart had opened up... But I know that I'll be going to the superwalmart today to get things done.

Yeah, I usually do that before with my friends. We actually have flea market at night back in my country. We're doing it cause it's fun, we'll stay there till 1 or 2 pm. It's really convenient for us to go there cause the place is not that far, so we go there once or twice every week. We can also get good bargains! =)

I like to shop late at night when no one's around, as long as the kind of shopping I need to do has a 24 hour store near me. Usually I try to do this with groceries. Luckily, I live near a 24 hour grocery store that I like, and I can get all my shopping done without having a zillion people buzzing around in the prime hours of the day. They usually have the shelves restocked later on as well, so it's easy to find what you need, or to find help if you're having trouble!

10 Apr 09
yep the restocking is a benefit to late night shopping I never have to ask do you have this or when is it coming in becuase if they have it then it's already restocked LOL!! There are some nice benefits to late night shopping.

I like to shop at both times. I think it just depends on where I am going and what I need to buy. I do like going late at night at times to avoid the crowds. Soemtimes, I like to go early, and get the shopping done. I guess it just depends on my mood.

it really depends on when I have time to do it.. Like now my other half is home late at night so I can do the walmart shopping at night as long as I'm not dying of illness like I am now .. LOL!!!

I love midnight or late night shopping so much that i wish more places other than just wal-mart were open. I agree with avoiding the large crowds of crazy people who shop at wal-mart all day long. Also i never go shopping in stores during the 1st or the 15th.

We do have an all night super market near me but I don't have a car and it's miles out of town so I rarely use it. I used too when I had a partner with a car we'd both go and do our shopping at about 11pm it is good as there's no crowds and the shelves are always being stocked so everything is there.

Bella, When I'm sick, nothing is important enough for me to go out any where, anytime. But my hubby likes to do the Walmart shopping sometimes late night. Not often but when he does it always surprises me because I guess I'm kind of like wanting to be home, safe and sound after dark. I like the early morning once in awhile. I hope you feel better soon and be careful out therre.xoxoxo leenie

I ever did once on this new year shopping spree just because l want to grasp those special midnight discount on certain items. Guess what, l really felt very tired and sleepy when reaching the hypermart. Where as my son, we had to let him sleep in the strolley while we do those shopping..Really felt very terrible..

I guess I'm so use to going to bed around two am and being up at 7am that it doesn't bother me anymore.
