From now onwards I'll comment each and every response I receive...

thank you - This is for those who have ever responded to my discussions or commented on my responses. Thank you.

Hi everyone... I have just felt that we should comment on each and every response that we receive on our discussions. If you don't receive a comment from the discussion starter you feel like unheard and even if a word of thank you comes your way, it makes us feel nice. So if nothing else just a thanks is nice to say. It is at times hard to do that as at times you receive so many responses but i am going to do that from now onwards (and I am not complaining about the number of responses as I really want more and more people responding to me). By the way, do you feel the same, am I right?

Hi coolmailraj! I feel that if we do not comment it is not a discussion. Those who take time to respond to us are more likely to return again if we comment back to them. I do this even when I have very many responses. I prefer to comment to all before starting my next discussion and I leave another question too so that maybe they will return. Some do and we exchange several comments and we get to know more about each other in some cases. It is fun commenting back too and, of course, we are paid for comments too!

Hi. It wasn't that much about the payment but yes i have noted a few chains of comments leading to really nice conversations and information exchange points. The thing that at times get hard is how to relate to ones response and then ask a question. How you do that?

Hi. But then again there is a problem in that. Here on mylot I have so many friends and it is hard to remember what we have already talked about with someone.

How do I do that? Just like you did here I just pick up something from the response left by the other person and turn it into a question hoping they will come back and many do If I find a question I always go back and answer it too. Once you get to know the other person better, over time, then it becomes easier because there is always something you can relate to from previous conversations. Do you think you can do that with your friends?

hi raj, that would be ideal.. but i do feel some of my myLot freinds are very famous for their discussions and gets loads and loads of responses, that it may be hard for them to comment on all the responses that they've received.. true, it would be nice if we get comments for our responses, you feel that your response was noticed and read.. and sometimes i get comments from other members.. that makes me very happy, too...

yes they can cut down on the number of discussion they create but then some people are inherently curious and in case of mylot they are supposed to be asking more questions and hence starting more discussions.

4mymak even the 'famous' Lotters could show that they care and comment. If they have only a little time then they could do so instead of creating a new discussion. That's how I do it (though I do not consider myself 'famous' yet ).

Yes you are very correct, we do feel nice if we see just a ‘thnk you’ against our responses. Many times I have got BR from people who have not bothered to write anything at all…well the BR says that the person has read and liked my response but is that all? And then in discussion with no responses, I don’t even know whether my thoughts have been read or not! However, time is definitely a constraint. It is one of the reasons why I don’t start any discussions myself…I cant really finish all my return responses and then I do feel bad about it…recently I have having responses to my discussions which are soooooooooo old…I am feeling guilty about not responding back…maybe one day I’ll do just that…write a note of thanks to all of them.

Hi. You can take a leaf out of my book, I said thanks to all those who have responded to me or commented on my posts by the picture in this discussion. I just hope all of them or at least many of them goes through this discussion. By the way what is a BR. Thanks for your response.

BR is Best Response. We should award the BR once we receive one which we consider to be the Best of all.

I have been doing this for more than a year now... before... i would just choose a few responses that i will comment to... but then decided to just comment on all... since we also get paid for that... especially if the comments we make are substantial... aside for that... this is also a way to get more response... since the discussion will appear on the recent discussion list...

I think it is a good idea to comment because our discussions responses also increases. I haven't notice this idea before and noted only recently.

Its a good thing that you wil want the people to feel better so that they respond more and more on your discussions. I have tried that once but could not get the desired results. So you can also try the same and if you get any good response do share with us.

Hi. I wish my experience will be something better then yours. Along with commenting you have to appreciate their thoughts and time as well in situations such as this. Thanks for your response.

I've always found you to be excellent for replying to responses. I never expect them each time, but it is nice to get them. I agree that it's nice to get thanks, but be careful to add another sentence or two. It's against MyLot rules just to thank people...I've never really understood that. How is everything going for you? Haven't seen you to much lately. Take care friend.

Hi. Yes I know that we have to be as much descriptive as we can be, I'll pay attention to that too. I am doing well and as I am deep into this training I have found it really difficult to be here for long. By the way how are you?

Being busy with the training helps the time go by much faster, doesn't it? Pretty soon you will be finished, isn't that a wonderful thought? I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. It's finally starting to feel like spring here with warmer weather, so I try to be outside a lot. Because of that, I'm not spending as much time here as I did before. Pretty soon it will be too hot to be outside, then I'll be back more. Take care friend!

I also think it is great to put comments on the discussions and responses. I have never put comments on the discussions I have started until recently. Now a days, I am trying to add as much comments as possible.

You are right. It's common courtesy to respond, even if very briefly to anyone who took the time to read your discussion and post on it. I don't start too many discussions for that very reason. As my time is limited, I sometimes am unable to answer every response in a reasonable period of time. It's common courtesy to acknowledge the writer.

One of the 'don'ts' of Mylot discussions is not to answer each comment with a thank you or something like that. It doesn't make you any money. They want the comments to be meaningful. It doesn't bother me if all my comments aren't commented on by the person posting the discussion. I don't answer all mine unless I have something beneficial to say, either.

Hi. I'll try to indulge in a conversation each time I comment on any post and that too a meaningful one. Thanks for your response.

Hi coolmailraj, I agree, when I do any discussion and when I recieve reponses, it doesen't matter how many I get I always respond back to everyone as it is just good manner to do that because people took their trouble to read your discussion and to respond to you of the topic, so it is good manners to reply. Keep it up coolmail! That's a good practice. Mylotters would be more than willing to respond on your discussions if they know that you comment back. It shows that you really read the things they said on their response. It's also a good way of starting a good friendly relationship here in myLot.

It's good to respond to discussions, sometimes it does make the person fill better. Sometimes I wounder if some only respond to just their friends responses. I have been in many discussions and the reply that I make would be before someone else that said about the same thing that I have just said but mine will be skipped over. So yes it does make you feel like that person doesn't care if you respond or not. This is one reason why I haven't been on here as much lately, no one responds to your discussions or you don't get a reply when you respond to other peoples discussions. Sometimes it just makes me feel like I'm wasting my time.

Hi. First of all let me assure you one thing, there is always someone enjoying your posts here on mylot, whether they comment back or not is a different thing and then people are bound to read more of their friends and comment on their posts. Don't feel dishearten with it. Thanks for your response dear.

Good Man, you are going in the right way, you are lucky to find that much time which is not the case of others [I am mentioning about myself :-)]. You see, by doing this you can just discuss over a particular subject instead of just leaving a comment and forgetting it. After all, that is what we call as a discussion.

ya u r right, that helps you also and also the responder. The responder gets paid if u add comment, and may be your comment be further responded by someone else, that will help you again and if he/she does not add comment, still the responder gets stimulated that this person adds comments and he/she chooses your discussion first to respond.
