The development of Information technology, especially the Internet, has made an increaseing number of various e-books accessible to people. Some people say that e-books will replace traditional books someday because they have such advantages as being easy to carry, transfer and search. But as I see it,they will not and cannot take the place of traditional books. For one thing, some people don't like reading on a screen. It makes eyes water or the battery tends to run out on the edge of a cliff-hanger moment. For another, many books are unavailable in digital forms because of copyright. Many authors are unwilling to have their hard-accomplished books duplicated and disseminated for free. Therefore, traditional books will continue to exist despite the rising popularity of e-books.A reader who falls in love with a book may still want to cwn it in the printed form, even if he hand read it in an electronic form. What do you think?

We had this discussion in a couple of my classes. One of which was my business law class. Due to copyright laws, it will be a long time coming where there will be strictly e-books available. Also, there are a lot of people (me included) that although e-books are nice it's nicer to have the good ole paper and print form of a book. My accounting book is on line and I really didn't need to buy the book, but I hate trying to read information off a computer screen...and it costs a lot more to print the thing out on the printer. The main thing is copy righted material. People who have spent the time to write a book didn't do it for the fun of sitting and working at a computer for hours. These writers do expect compensation for their time. Think about the big names: Tom Clancey, James Michner, and others. I am sure they would be a bit more than a little upset at the fact that their newest book could be accessed and printed off the internet and they wouldn't receive a dime for the book.

I still love to read traditional books rather than e-books. But I think more and more people are attached to e-books especially those downloaded by portable devices. Maybe someday we will find all our books selling in a memory card format and we will be reading it with only one single portable device.
