I have been injured on the job. And my employer sent me a letter stating they could not hold my job for me any longer. So my next step is will I be paid for my injury longer or will they give me a settlement or what??? For I have no job to return to when I am able to go back to work for I guess I will go on unemployment. Does anyone know about this kind of problem for I would like some answers & help, thanks.

I would say get a lawyer. If you were hurt on the job then you should be getting some type of workers compensation. Get a lawyer that will work for a percentage of your recovery so you won't have to pay him anything up front. They will work harder if they know that they won't get paid unless they get money for you. I don't know which state you live in and because laws vary you would probably be best to contact a free local legal advisor to give you some pointers and to let you know what your options are.

I live in Georgia & I am receiving workman's comp at this moment but what happens to me after the doctor says I can return to work & I have no job to return to for I will have to get on unemployment. But since I have been out since September I may not have enough in unemployment.

Hey cj! I think it all depends on what kind of insurance you have with your job and what kind of injury you have! You would have had to file for some kind of injury insurance when you had been injured, so did you? If you didn't report the injury when it happened then you might have a problem! Your job knows that too! So I hope that you did report it! If not then you will have to fight your job for firing you due to the accident! The most you will probably get would be unemployment insurance. It will all depend on if you filed an accident report at the time of the injury which I am hoping you did. And if you did your boss would not be able to let you go! And they know this! You might need to get a lawyer!

At this moment I am on workman's comp. And workman's comp told me that my employer was not suppose to do that to me.
