Sign of the Cross!

As I was going into town today I noticed a sign with a Religious Cross on it. Upon viewing it I felt an unwholesome sensation in the pit of my stomach. This sign always conveys to me everything that is Barbaric and Cruel. A most Horrible Death, and because its such a Revered Sign, it always gives me a Shiver of Dread.
My God is a God of Love. A God who Loves Absolutely. Absolute Love demands Absolutely Nothing. The very last thing Absolute Love would demand (if it demanded anything,) would be that a Son of God be put to a Cruel, Horrendous, Torturous, Death, purportedly to save Humanity from their Supposed Sin. Think about this for a minute! Can this make any sense at all to a thinking, intelligent, person? How many of you out there get this Dreadful Sensation upon viewing the Cross. A Religious Symbol, that is a Revered Sign of Torture, and Horrible Death, with God's Love and Graciousness etched upon it?

I do, but I am sure you understand that God did it this way so that we could better understand the ultimate sacrifice. But Jesus could have called anyone even God to get him off the cross that day, but he knew as well. This shows an overwhelming absolute love for humanity that would come after him. While I do think it is horrible and torturous it also reminds me how much he loves me. Would you do all that for millions of people that you knew would mess up and even many that would reject you?
