I think Finch is dying...

My poor fish who is more than ten years old...and he is a tough little booger. He's survived much abuse a fish could face. There was a goldfish massacre I will never forget waking up to one morning....here's the story: There were several goldfish in a tank. And the icky stuff began to grow so I went and bought some of those bottom feeder fish. Well everything was going lovely. The fish swam happily around their clean tank and the bottom feeders were beginning to grow....Until one morning I woke up and sure enough...there was a massacre. A mutiny among fish.....three of the five goldfish had been gutted....so gross and sad to say. At first I looked at Finch and the other guy....and then I watched the bottom feeders chasing those two....it was those things that did it..... Needless to say I ditched them. So poor Finch has outlived his brothers and sisters by more than ten years. And I am not sure but I think it's quite impressive he's lived this long as a goldfish. He has even changed color over the years....quite the odd one he is. I have him in a bowl right now....with clean water just to see if he will revive from this. Ode to Finch.....

That's incredible! I had no idea a gold fish could last that long. I hope he continues to live and sets some sort of gold fish life record.

I hope he revives. One gets attached to pets. Although I dont imagine how is an attachment to fish. But I had a dog and she was my companion. It took me a year of mourning to accept that it was time for another dog.

Wow! That is truly amazing and an ode to your loving care of him. I hope he snaps back and lives another 10 years. How big is your tank? I am not very good at keeping fish alive. If you don't believe me, check out some of my past discussions! LOL Live long and prosper Finch!

That does seem like a long time for a fish. I've never been good with fish but it sounds like Finch has been in good hands all these years. I hope it's not his time to go but, if it is, he certainly had a long and happy life with a great caretaker like you.
