Many a times we buy something which is cheaper even though we know it is not from very good company. And it can prove costly especially when we get spare parts of motor vehicle as they last less so then they would have to be replaced earlier, so cost of labour which we would have paid once in say 20,000 miles we paid twice.

You just have to shop carefully, and examine whatever you're buying before you buy it. Sometimes if you're on a tight budget you have to go with the cheaper option even if you are going to have to replace it sooner.

I understand what you are trying to say but it is if we can afford a better brand would we still go for cheaper one.

depends on your financial status, sometimes the cheaper things will do the same work as the expensive ones, you just choose what suits you best to buy, don't be too care of the brand or the cost,if you have much money you could just buy what you want without any thinking

yes what you are saying is absolutely right, you get what you pay for and being cheap doesn't necessarily mean buy better.

You are right. Many times paying that extra $10 or so extra if you can stretch your budget enough to do it is better to have that warranty that will last for several years or a lifetime if you pay the extra for a better part. I have done this a number of times so I wouldn't have to pay for someone to do the work again and another part., not to mention being without my vehicle or whatever I'm fixing for the time it takes to order a part if need be and the work to be done.

I do understand your point and I agree with you, sometimes it just pays more (on the long run) to put alittle bit extra. so i do that most of the times, but sometimes when I am low on money I'll pay for the cheap stuff because it's all that I can afford right now, hoping for the best. Happy mylotting

agreed double edged sword, i do not think anybody does not believe you get what you pay for. That being said a part for a car that you only expect or hope to get a year out of does not need top of the line parts, just enough to keep it going. If you have to pay for the part twice it might be a good thing because it means you have not had to a buy a new car.

I guess it depends, just because the brand is less known, doesn't mean the quality is less better. though it is the more likely the it is, that is why more known brands take advantage of the security that the consumers feel buying their product by raising their price a lot higher. I think there is also a difference between a less known brand and an imitation of a known brand. There is a certain drive for companies new to the market to prove the quality of their product to be as good as the known one.

It depends on the item I'm buying. If is important, like car parts, or something I need to rely on, I will spend more and in the long run, I get more use out of the item. On the other hand if its something I really don't depend on, I'll go for the cheapest.

I always buy the best that i can afford in replacement parts, this gives our machines extra life and so we make back the expense in the long run.

As long as you can afford the price go for it. But sometimes we need to consider the price now because of the crisis. For me it doesn't matter whether I buy cheap things as long it has a good quality like the branded one. You need to choose a good quality even if it is cheap.

I am the queen of deals and love to buy things cheaper! I buy many Kroger brands, they are by far the best store brands for us. The ice cream is first class. Things are hard out there and people are buying more and more store brands.

I always buy a product from a good company. For example, even for buying "chips" (eatables) , i buy it from a good company , even the though the quantity may be small the quality might be good. Buying goods from a local brand may cost you more later when we encounter with repairs.
