What do we do when our box gets full?

Let's compare life to a box...when we are born we have an empty box. As we reach milestones we begin adding things to our box. These things may be relationships, knowledge, material things, wisdom, etc. Most of these things can cause stress, of course if we let them. What happens to the box when it starts getting full? Does it run over and just cannot stuff anything more into it? I guess it depends on how deep, wide, or long your box is. Basically our box gathers stuff and we rarely purge anything. Why do we do this? Why do we insist on holding on to things and not allowing room for new things to come in? I guess it is just how human beings are. Some have an easier time letting things go while others cannot let go of anything. Now that we have talked about our boxes and putting stuff in it, do you think that stuff in our homes can be considered stuff in our box. What I mean is we tend to hold on to material things that have sentimental value to us, before we know it we have a ton of things taking up space in our houses or our "boxes". What if you could find a better way to store these "sentimental" things? Do you think that holding onto too much stuff can cause stress? I totally believe that if we were to clean out and organize our houses/lives we could live with just a little less stress. In today's world we are so busy that we rarely have time to clean out our memory bank or reorganize it much less our garages, closets, attics, etc. If you just took a weekend to get at least one of these things organized I think you would see maybe a tiny bit of difference. Not only have you made something look more eye appealing but you have a sense of accomplishment in getting it that way. We all love the feeling of accomplishment. There are many ways to alleviate some of the stressors in our lives if we just think outside the box we can come up with simple ways to do it. Give it a try and let me know what you think!!!
