I can't post comment on posted image with response because ....

I am not in your friends list!
How ironic is this? Suppose you have posted an image with your response and I liked it very much but when I try to add comment, then a message box would appear and suggest me to be a friend of you.
The problem is that by the time, I will make friends with you the discussion will be gone behind some newer ones!
Don't you think that mylot should give this authority to user that s/he can post his/her comments on image posted with response?

This is just another of the ways myLot avoids a lot of irrelevant stuff.
Maybe after 500 we should have access to commenting on all photos but I agree that it should not be for all immediately. There are too many spammers that abound

May be and I must praise mylot admin for being strict with new bies here. When I started here I thought that I will be using only copy paste once I will reach 500 but by the time I got right of copy paste, I started enjoy typing. Ths is the beauty of such restriction.
But commenting on images, which are poste in my discussion, No, no, I must get a right of commenting.
Do you know how to write to mylot. I have tried contact page but they have restricted us to certain limit of questions.

I have experienced this too where I can't comment back on somebody's comment on a photo. Well that's how things go so I just let it be. :-)

Well I just tried that with one of my friends post a comment and reate it, but it said I must be friends with this person. you have so many friends, how do you know who is your friend and who isn't? That is my problem, with it.

When you rate a comment +-! either one of these That is how you rate a Photo image

Still learning stuff from you sanuanu! I did not know that you cannot comment on photos unless you are a friend. I can appreciate people's feelings about spam and I guess this is the reason although it would be nice to able to do it regardless, as you say, because we can all post comments to non friends.
I contacted MyLot and used the 'other' option when I had an issue that wasn't in the list. Worth a try I suppose.

I don't really understand the reason why we must be friends with the person to comment on their photo. Maybe to prevent spamming? I think that it is very unneeded because we don't need to be friends with the person to reply to their discussions, do we? No, so why must we be friends to comment on the photos?

That makes perfectly sense what you are saying what difference does it make whether we are friends or not. I have so many friends I can't remember who is my friend and who is not.

My lot should allow you to post coments with an imagie even if you are not in their friends list. I can't undersand why they would not.
Just kidding.
Wait and watch, I think with next upgradation they will do the same to benifit us.

I think mylot is providing the commenting facilities in between friends only. They must have their own reasons for the same. But I understand your point of view. If you want to comment somebody’s image and you have to add the person and waiting for his/her approval and if the person is not approving easily it may take long time and by that time the discussion become an old one. Let us hope mylot may do something in future about the subject. There is an option, you can add your opinion with the comment means when you reply to the responders: you can include the opinion about the image also with the comment. But the separate image comment is not possible if the person is not in your friend's list.

I used to do same earlier till I heard from one of my mylot friend that she expects comments on photo she posted. So, then now on I try to add comment on each image gets posted.

yes i experience that too so now i only look on photos that i know they are on my firends list. that is how it goes and i dont really know why. when that happen to me i just tell the person how cool the picture is on the said discussion. there are some things here at mylot that make me ask why but all we need to do is to follow.

I wasn't that kind of a person who used to leave comments on posted image on my discussion but once I was told by a lotter that she expects a comment on her pic. So, I started doing that. I was lucky that first 4-5 were posted by my friends but once I found that I can't post because I am not in friends list.
Now, mylot should restrict users to post images on only friend's discussion. That makes sense.

hhmmm. i have never really tried to comment on someones image/pics without they are my friend. so i guess it doesnt really bother me. but its good to make more friends that way anyway my friend.

There are too many anomalies at mylot.
This is one of them. If I can't post comment on my friends image posted in my discussion then why do they allow people to post them. Simply give a barrier that you can't post images to people who are not in your friends list. Simple.
There is another anomaly that If I have chosen that "I had relationship in my life" then why is it asking every time to add "I diddn't have relationship in my life?"
They should look into these matters.

I didnt even know that mylot placed this restriction when commenting on images because I have neve really tried posting to an image .I dont think though that mylot should set these restriction when commenting. I mean people who are not friends have comments too and someof these comments may even be nicer than what friends would post ,if that is what they are worried about.Thanks for teh information though
